"But aren’t you scared? That place is full of Poverty Zones, and they’re backward and have infectious diseases." Initially, Charlotte Clark was so scared because of that and didn’t want to go there.

"We’re not going to the worst places, it’s not that bad. Besides, my colleagues are all married with kids, while I am just a single dog. What’s there to be scared of?" Mia Parker said carelessly.

"You’re the only daughter in your family. You’d better watch yourself talking like that." Caroline Ruiz didn’t like to hear Mia Parker speak such inauspicious words.

"I was just joking, did you take it seriously?" Mia Parker pouted, very soon, Ben Parker returned.

"Let’s go find a place to have some fun and sing some songs. It’s been a long time since I last sang. Caroline, want to sing with me?" Mia Parker nudged Caroline Ruiz with her elbow.

"I can’t carry a tune." Caroline Ruiz least liked to sing. She only participated in school performances that featured group singing where her voice would be drowned out. She rarely participated when only a few people sang, as she would easily drag a team behind.

"That’s the point, your inability to sing just highlights how great my voice is," Mia Parker said without concern.

Caroline Ruiz was embarrassed.

Finally, Caroline and her husband, along with Mia Parker, Ben Parker, and Gary Skate, went to sing for a few hours.

In the private room of the Karaoke, Bryan Hawkins toasted Ben Parker with tea for his past help to Caroline. The two men felt a mutual appreciation for each other.

When they returned home, it was already midnight, so naturally they didn’t go pick up Axel.

Bryan Hawkins was given some wine to drink, while Gary Skate did not drink much. He didn’t know the others well and just joined them to avert a blind date.

Gary Skate drove them home.

Caroline was very tired, and she had to work the next day. After taking a shower, there were only a few hours left for sleep.

Bryan Hawkins didn’t bother her, and the two embraced each other and quickly fell asleep.

At work, Caroline called Andy Aguirre and asked him to prepare some special hometown products or gifts for Gavin Campbell, along with contacting Gavin’s parents.

"Who’s going to Africa?" Andy Aguirre looked confused.

"Mia Parker, she’s going there to report, along with our high school classmate Ben Parker. So, I was thinking of sending something to Gavin Campbell," Caroline explained. The prepared items couldn’t be too much, so she let Gavin’s parents handle it instead.

Gavin’s parents were elated. They received Andy Aguirre’s call and went shopping early. They bought Gavin’s favorite foods, all packaged and ready-to-eat in case cooking wasn’t easy in Africa.

When Gavin’s parents carried the two large bags of items to the hospital, even the psychologically-prepared Caroline was shocked by the number of items.

Caroline was unsure what Mia Parker’s reaction would be when she saw so many items.

Regardless, Gavin’s parents were grateful. For the items Mia Parker couldn’t take with her, they would simply choose express delivery.

"Thank you both, Andy and Caroline," Gavin’s mother was very happy. A year was too long for them, it felt like a long time, but it had only been a month.

"No need to be so polite, Auntie and Uncle," Andy Aguirre smiled.

"Well, we won’t bother you any further, we’ll leave first." Andy Aguirre sent them off.

Caroline looked at the bags, took a photo, and sent it to Mia Parker and Ben Parker.

Andy Aguirre came back soon after and looked at the items just standing there, "So many items, won’t Mia Parker go crazy over this?"
