"Fine, don’t add more chaos to the situation." Bonnie Jenkins glanced at her daughter and quickly dragged her husband away. At this point, the home was in turmoil and it was best not to add more trouble to the mix.

Her husband was angry at the moment, and with his two sons in tow, there was no telling what would happen when they encountered Christopher Lopez. Christopher deserved to be punished, but that didn’t mean they had to pay the price as well.

"How is this adding chaos? I told you to speak up earlier, but you didn’t." Ryan Ruiz was furious at Bonnie Jenkins, whom he had never liked, and disliked even more now.

Back when Jasmine Ruiz started dating Christopher Lopez, Ryan as a father had never been in favor, but Bonnie Jenkins was at that time so infatuated that she did not listen to reason.

Well, now she finally got her comeuppance, right?

"Can you all stop arguing, please?" Jasmine Ruiz called out in annoyance. She had woken up not wanting to hear her family argue over her.

The ward suddenly quieted down. Then, a nurse came to give Jasmine Ruiz an anti-inflammatory injection and brought her Mixed Grain Porridge, saying she could eat it when she could, and if not, she could eat it the next morning.

Carolline Ruiz took the Mixed Grain Porridge, "Don’t eat it, it’ll make it easier to throw up if you do."

Later on, she would continue to be on fluids, so she wouldn’t be too hungry anyway.

The room quieted down again.

Jasmine Ruiz fell asleep soon after, though it was unclear whether she was really asleep or just pretending. Either way, with her eyes closed, she did not plan to open them again. Emily Hill brought sweet dumplings for everyone but Bonnie Jenkins, who did not eat any.

Bonnie Jenkins was feeling upset, and Emily Hill did not try to persuade her. She knew that persuasion would be useless at this point and that sometimes people needed to walk out of their own emotions on their own.

Carolline Ruiz told Emily Hill and Henry Ruiz to go back and sleep, as everyone could not afford to be physically exhausted.

Bonnie Jenkins insisted on staying no matter what, so Carolline Ruiz asked Bryan Hawkins to accompany Ryan Ruiz to a nearby hotel to rest, while Raymond Ruiz and Felix Ruiz both went with them.

Only Carolline and Bonnie Jenkins were left in the room. As Carolline was used to the night shift, she was not afraid to stay awake all night.

"Carolline, you must be very happy now, aren’t you?" Bonnie Jenkins suddenly said, "You’ve lost to our family’s Jasmine in everything along the way, but now Jasmine stumbled so badly in her marriage—that she’s lost her entire life to you—you must be thrilled right?"

"Aunt, I know you’re upset, but do you think I could be happy when something like this happened to Sister Jasmine? Do you really see me, Carolline Ruiz, as such a cold-hearted person?" Carolline couldn’t help but ask in return. She knew that Bonnie Jenkins was extremely heartbroken and needed an outlet for her emotions, so she didn’t want to argue with her too much.

When a person’s heart is burdened with too many things, they can easily get sick if they do not properly release those feelings.

"Humph, you know best whether or not you are that kind of person, Carolline. When Jasmine came to ask for your help, you and your husband just hid away and refused. Let me tell you: Jasmine’s miscarriage today is not just Christopher Lopez’s fault; you and your husband are partly to blame, too. Do you understand that?" Bonnie Jenkins must have been really angry, as she was speaking quite harshly.

"At this point, you’re still trying to absolve Christopher Lopez of guilt? Aunt, what am I to say about you? Do you know what the greatest happiness for a woman is in her life? Christopher Lopez was already like that, and I warned you about it back then. Did you take it seriously? When I told you, you accused me of trying to sow discord between them. It hasn’t been that long since then, and this has happened. Can you say that you bear no responsibility whatsoever?" Carolline did not expect Bonnie Jenkins to be so harsh with her words.

She was actually blaming Jasmine Ruiz’s miscarriage on her, which was simply unbelievable.
