Chapter 702: Chapter 702: Character Problem (8)
Carolline Ruiz indeed has the capital to be proud.
"If Bryan Hawkins will indeed help us a week later, waiting for another week is not unacceptable. The main concern, is if they’re still unwilling to help after a week. Never mind, I will think of more ways. I can’t put all my hopes on one tree." Christopher Lopez finished speaking, didn’t eat breakfast, and went out.
Jasmine Ruiz didn’t stop him, knowing that he was in a bad mood. In fact, her mood was not good either.
"Jasmine, don’t worry. Take good care of yourself. Let mom handle Caroline’s matters. You go downstairs to eat breakfast, and I’ll go find your uncles." Bonnie Jenkins finished speaking and went downstairs.
Jasmine didn’t stop her mother. She knew that sometimes it was better to let her mother take the initiative than to find Caroline herself.
After all, they were not entirely relying on Bryan Cooper for help. The two could cooperate and share the profits fifty-fifty. It wasn’t like they were taking advantage of him.
On Caroline’s side, after Jasmine hung up on her like that, she was really depressed. She didn’t do anything wrong, yet this person got genuinely angry.
It was only one week’s delay. It seemed that Jasmine was used to being treated like a little princess. Whenever something came up, it had to be done immediately. Carolline wasn’t Jasmine’s servant.
After thinking about it, Caroline didn’t feel the need to apologize. Once Axel finished breakfast, she would drive him to kindergarten today.
"Young lady, what would you like to eat tonight?" Aunt Lu asked before they left.
"Just make something simple. Bryan won’t be home this whole week." Caroline had no particular requirements for food, as long as it wasn’t as demanding as Bryan.
"Alright, I’ll buy something then. What about Axel?" Aunt Lu asked Axel.
"Aunt Lu, how about frying some potato strips? I want to eat those," Axel said shyly.
"Alright, I’ll fry potato strips for you." Aunt Lu nodded.
Caroline drove Axel to kindergarten, then went to the Hospital. While she was in line at the hospital gate, she saw a familiar car with Christopher Lopez as the owner. The woman sitting in the passenger seat wasn’t Jasmine Ruiz.
Caroline followed the car in. Christopher Lopez and the woman got out of the car, and it really wasn’t Jasmine Ruiz.
But as soon as that woman got out of the car, she intimately wrapped Christopher’s arm. Both of their hands were filled with things that looked like they were for visiting a patient. But the relationship between them seemed a bit too intimate.
Caroline got out of her car, and Christopher saw her. He subconsciously let go of Scarlett Cervantes’ hand.
"Uh, this is my friend, Scarlett Cervantes. Scarlett, this is my second sister, Carolline Ruiz. She is a nurse at this hospital," Christopher introduced the two of them.
"Miss Carolline, hello." Scarlett Cervantes stepped forward and reached out her hand.
"Hello," Caroline said indifferently, not reaching out her hand to Scarlett. Then she looked up at the somewhat embarrassed Christopher, "Is Jasmine okay at home? Don’t you need to accompany her?"
"I came here to do something, and Jasmine isn’t alone," Christopher explained, blushing.
"Oh, you’re busy? Then I won’t bother you anymore," Caroline said, turning to leave.
"Is this your sister-in-law?" Scarlett Cervantes asked knowingly. Since Christopher left last night so resolutely and then reappeared early this morning, she knew he would come back to find her. She just didn’t expect it to be so fast. "Why do I feel like you’re afraid of her?"
"Enough, weren’t you going to see your grandfather?" Christopher didn’t want to argue with her and reminded her instead.
"Let’s go." Scarlett Cervantes wasn’t in a hurry either. After all, the person in need of money was him, not her. In any case, he had to fulfill the Powell Family’s requirements to get their commitment.
Christopher, however, didn’t think that way. He wanted to maneuver around first and then have the Powell Family relent to lend him money for his urgent need.
A little while after Carolline got to work, she heard a knock on the door. She opened the door and saw her Aunt Bonnie, "Aunt Bonnie, why are you here?"
"I went to your house, and no one was there. So, I came to see you. Your father seems to be in surgery." Bonnie originally did not want to come directly to Caroline, as it was easier to speak with someone of the same generation.
But Emily Hill was at work, Henry Ruiz was in surgery, so she asked someone for Caroline’s office room and came over.
"Really? Then please come in and sit down. Do you want to eat lunch here?" Carolline asked with a smile.
"Never mind, you are all busy people. Aunt Bonnie still knows some manners." Bonnie Jenkins didn’t break the ice right away. "By the way, I heard Bryan is on a business trip again? Wasn’t he saying he would not leave you and Axel?"
"Yes, he said he would try not to, but he is a businessman after all. Sometimes, unexpected situations can happen. Aunt Bonnie, are you looking for him?" Carolline naturally knew the reason why Bonnie had rushed over, given Jasmine’s anger this morning.
But did they think she was lying?
"Indeed, you’re right. Your uncle and third uncle are the same, leaving on business trips unexpectedly. However, Carolline, Aunt Bonnie has something to say that may not be appropriate." Bonnie Jenkins sat down, and Carolline poured her a glass of plain water.
"Aunt Bonnie, just say what you have to say." Carolline also sat down across from her, and there was nothing to do at the moment anyway.
"In a family, we should help each other, right? No one can guarantee a lifetime of wealth and smooth sailing, nor can anyone guarantee that they won’t have any problems during their lifetime, right?" Bonnie Jenkins took a sip of water, put the cup down, and spoke in a subtle way. But Carolline understood.
"Aunt Bonnie, I know. I don’t know what kind of trouble Jasmine and her husband have encountered. If it’s about helping, we will definitely try our best to help. But if it’s about doing business, I can only tell him about it. Whether they can make the deal or not is their own matter, don’t you think?" Carolline said gently.
"Isn’t our family’s business easier to negotiate?" Bonnie Jenkins picked up the water cup and put on an air of authority.
"I can’t guarantee that to Aunt Bonnie. Just like in brother Raymond’s case, I was just a matchmaker. Whether it would be successful or not depends on an individual’s ability," Carolline said straightforwardly.
"You mean, Christopher has no ability?" Bonnie Jenkins raised her eyebrows. she was not speaking for Christopher but for Jasmine. If they said Christopher had no ability, then wouldn’t that mean their family’s Jasmine had no judgment? She wouldn’t admit that.
"Whether he has the ability or not, I don’t know. I just think, have you and sister Jasmine ever really understood his character?" Carolline questioned.
With a slap, Bonnie Jenkins hit the table fiercely. What exactly did Carolline mean by that?
