Chapter 691: Chapter 691: Carolline Ruiz Gets Angry (6)

Some people were satisfied with the meal, while others were not.

After dinner, Bryan Hawkins drove his in-laws home before returning to their own house.

When they were alone, Carolline Ruiz stopped talking to Bryan Hawkins.

Once home, she let Axel take a shower alone, and then she quickly took a shower herself. After that, she went to Axel’s room to tell him a story and put him to bed.

After putting Axel to sleep, she saw Bryan Hawkins waiting for her in the living room. She pretended not to see him and went straight to her room. Soon after, she came out with a pillow and a cool blanket, just as Bryan Hawkins opened the door to come in. Seeing her actions, he took the pillow and blanket from her hands himself.

"I’ll sleep outside," he said, knowing he had done something wrong and voluntarily leaving the room.

"That was the plan." Carolline said, then closed the door.

Bryan Hawkins stared at the closed door in front of him, hesitated for a moment, and then silently turned and left.

The next day, they went to the Hawkins family home together. In front of the Hawkins family members, Carolline behaved naturally, not letting anyone see that they were having a disagreement.

Axel started school soon, and at the Hawkins house, he received many gifts for the new school year. Carolline also received some gifts.

Carolline felt embarrassed but had to accept the gifts since Grandma wouldn’t let her refuse.

After dinner, Bryan Hawkins made various excuses to linger. First, he chatted with William Hawkins while having tea. Time passed, and finally, due to the late hour, the elderly Mrs. Hawkins asked them to stay overnight before leaving. After all, they only had to register the next day, and it wasn’t the first day of school, so it wouldn’t matter if they were a little late.

In the end, Bryan Hawkins achieved his goal.

At the Hawkins’ house, Carolline wouldn’t send him to sleep in another room, would she?

Of course, Carolline didn’t force Bryan Hawkins to sleep in another room at the Hawkins’ house. However, even though they shared the bed, she turned her back to him.

Even so, Bryan Hawkins was happy. At least the door was open, and they were in the same bed - how could her back not eventually turn around?

When school started for Axel, Carolline and Bryan Hawkins only dropped him off, leaving everything to Emily Hill.

They went straight to Emily’s office. Since she had to work the next day, Carolline wanted to find some time to visit Celia Wade. Bryan Hawkins also wanted to go, but Headmistress Faye needed to talk to him about some matters, so Carolline went alone.

She didn’t want a certain someone to keep clinging to her.

When Carolline arrived at Celia Wade’s house, Celia was in the kitchen making soup. Seeing her, Celia served her a bowl to taste.

"You’re learning to make soup at home? Can Jordy eat it now?" Carolline asked, looking at the golden chicken soup in the sand pot. Could a patient consume such greasy food?

"I think liquid food should be fine. We need to supplement his nutrition somehow. Otherwise, when he wakes up, he will look all shriveled and unwell." Celia nodded; in her view, Jordy would wake up sooner or later; it was just a matter of time.

"Well, just make sure to ask the doctor before you take it to him." Carolline nodded, "Since I’m free today, I’ll go to the hospital with you later, okay?"

"Sure. Today seems to be Axel’s first day of school. Time flies so quickly, in a few months he’ll be able to attend your big wedding with Mr. Hawkins. I’m really looking forward to it." Celia grinned, changing the subject quickly.

Carolline could hardly accept it, "The soup is delicious."

"Why didn’t Mr. Hawkins come with you today?" Celia took some chicken soup from the sand pot and let it cool down. Mentioning Bryan Hawkins, she realized that his constant presence was missing for once.
