Chapter 683: Chapter 683: Gary Skate Exposed (6)

He was also the only child in the family, and when his mother accidentally found out that his friend Bryan Hawkins had remarried and had a son, she forced him to go on blind dates every day. Today, he was forced to meet this girl by his mother, who threatened that she would die if he didn’t come.

Then, he watched as his mother’s breathing became rapid and her face pale. Even though he knew that she was mainly putting on an act, he still came. As a result, the girl didn’t show up until almost noon, and then they had to come here to eat.

They had just arrived, and he thought that he wouldn’t bump into any acquaintances, but he didn’t expect to encounter Carolline Ruiz and Bryan Hawkins.

Bryan Hawkins glanced at him and then took his gaze back, pretending to be a passer-by.

Gary Skate’s mood improved slightly, thinking that Bryan Hawkins wasn’t used to eating in such an environment either.

"Hmm, what a coincidence." Gary Skate’s mood didn’t last long, for he realized that being laughed at by Carolline Ruiz after she found out about his blind date would be quite embarrassing. So, he sounded a bit awkward as he spoke.

"Dean Gary, you’re not alone, are you?" Carolline Ruiz asked deliberately, as she noticed a woman’s purse on the seat across the table from Gary Skate.

"Hmm, I have a friend with me. You three are out for a meal together, I see?" Gary looked towards them, recognizing the family attire and assuming the trio must consist of a couple and their child. "I didn’t expect that someone as young as you would already have such a big son. You’re truly blessed."

Gary was somewhat annoyed, thinking what was so great about having a wife and child, as his single days were quite comfortable and he didn’t understand why people had to go on blind dates and get married.

"I wouldn’t say that I’m blessed, but..." Carolline was about to finish her sentence when a tall, stylish woman wearing high heels walked over. She was holding two big plates of food, which clearly indicated she was a big eater. But it’s impressive how she maintained such a good figure despite her eating habits.

"Oh, you bumped into an acquaintance? And a woman, no less?" The woman looked Carolline up and down before turning to Gary Skate with a sarcastic question.

"Our hospital’s head nurse," Gary explained.

Frankly speaking, dating Phoebe Edwards, this blind date, wasn’t unfamiliar to Gary. After all, they lived in the same circle. Phoebe was quite curious—her family was extremely wealthy, but she insisted on working hard outside the home, claiming to be designing for some online platform, even staying up three or four nights a week.

Moreover, she enjoyed consuming products from mainstream places, claiming that her consumption should match the amount she earned. The wealth of her family was her parents’, and it had little to do with her.

Her personality was such that it made him quite impressed, but Phoebe wasn’t his type, and he wasn’t interested in her at all.

However, his mother insisted on setting them up, even though Phoebe had no interest in him either.

"Oh," Phoebe’s response was somewhat stretched.

"I’d better go, then. I won’t disturb Dean Gary and the beautiful lady while they dine." Carolline had no intention of discussing anything further with Gary. Anyway, when she got back to work, she decided to share with Megan Clifton how she had bumped into Gary on his blind date, laughing at him when she found out he shared a similar situation with her.

If everyone knew that Dean Gary had to rely on blind dates to find a girlfriend, they’d think he’s a big loser, ruining his proud image at the hospital.

Thinking about Gary’s bad days soon to be revealed, Carolline felt happy and relieved that she found a place to vent her recent frustrations.
