Chapter 667: Chapter 667: Affection No More (6)
"I appreciate your help, officer. I would like to see my mother. Can you arrange it?" Cole Duncan nodded. He honestly did not expect to learn that his mother had been taken away by the police.
Of course, he had also received a call from the police, asking him to come to the police station.
Upon seeing Cole Duncan, Carolline Ruiz erupted in anger, "Didn’t you guys pledge allegiance the other day? What’s the situation now? Cole, you have gone to extreme lengths to protect your mother."
"Ms. Ruiz, rest assured. Elena is my daughter. If it was indeed her grandmother who did this, I know what I should do, even without your prompting." If it really was Debbie Duncan who did this, their mother-son relationship will be over forever.
Never again. He would not recognize Debbie as his mother any more, he would even publicly announce their estrangement.
For a moment, Carolline Ruiz was speechless. She wasn’t pressing Cole into doing something, she just felt sympathetic and a bit emotional thinking about Elena, who was still missing.
"Cole, I beg you, if you can find out where Elena is and help us find her, I won’t pursue anything else. Truly, I will do anything she wants. If she wants money, I will return it all to her," Daisy Willow pleaded, rushing over to Cole.
"..." Cole understood that Daisy had already convicted Debbie. He sighed a little and had a glimmer of hope that Debbie had nothing to do with this. "Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. I’m going to see her first."
"..." With tears streaming down her face, Daisy watched as Cole, accompanied by the police officer, walked into the interrogation room.
Debbie initially thought it was the lawyer who had arrived. Upon seeing her son at the door, she felt a surge of emotion. "Cole, you’re here. Please help me find my lawyer. I want to leave this place," Debbie said.
"Where is Elena?" Cole was unmoved, upon seeing that Debbie’s main concern was getting out and she offered no explanation. Recalling the audio recording the officer had played for him, he realized that if Debbie was still demanding money from Daisy, she must be holding something Daisy cares about a lot.
The only thing Daisy cared about now is her daughter, nothing else.
"So you believe what they said, huh? I told you, Elena’s disappearance has nothing to do with me. I don’t know where she is," Debbie retorted disappointingly. Instead of worrying about how she was doing or finding her a lawyer, the first thing her son did when he arrived was to demand where Elena was. Is this the behavior of a son?
"Really no idea? Then, why are you demanding money from Daisy? Isn’t it because you want to trade Elena’s whereabouts for the money she has? Mom, I don’t want this to be the last time I call you that. If you’re willing to change, I’ll wait for you to come out, I’ll treat you well and let you live peacefully in your old age. But if you’re not, then I’ll announce to the public that our mother-son relationship is completely severed. From then on, everything about you will not concern me. Is that what you want?"
The words of Cole were cold and resolute. The fact that his daughter was kidnapped by his own mother was too much for him to bear.
For the rest of his life, he would be too ashamed to face Elena, because the ordeal she had suffered was a result of the grandmother he had brought into her life.
"You want to sever ties with me?" Debbie burst into hysterical laughter. She lamented, what sin had she committed to deserve such a fate? She had devoted her life to her son, only to end up like this.
