Chapter 655: Chapter 655: It’s Really Not Him (2)
Katie wasn’t good at comforting people either. At this time, she knew both of them must be very worried, but except for advising them not to worry too much, she really didn’t know what else to do.
To say that Elena would be fine was just self-deception. No matter if she fell into Debbie Duncan’s hands or the trafficker’s, she didn’t think Elena would have an easy time.
At this moment, Katie wished the kidnappers would give her a call so she could at least know their purpose for taking Elena. But it had been more than an hour since Elena went missing, and no phone call had come through.
Neither she nor Cole Duncan had received a call.
"I’ll take you home first," Cole said, moving his wheelchair in front of Daisy Willow.
"No need, I can go back by myself," Daisy shook her head in refusal. Cole was already inconvenienced, how could she let him escort her?
"Then, you go home early. I’ll go back too. If there’s any new information, we’ll communicate by phone. For now, don’t tell my uncle and aunt so they won’t worry. Just say Elena is staying with me for a couple of days. As for the excuse, you can think of something to tell them," Cole instructed.
Daisy nodded with teary eyes, understanding that the more people knew, the more complicated and difficult the situation would become to handle.
Not fully reassured, Katie watched Daisy for a moment longer before wheeling Cole away.
After they left, Daisy didn’t dare go home alone, fearing her ability to lie wasn’t sufficient. She hadn’t fully prepared herself mentally and continued to wander along the main road, even hoping that she would suddenly bump into Elena.
—— Line break ——
After Elena was drugged unconscious and taken away, the two men took her out of the zoo under the cover of another accomplice. They put her in a car and sped off.
Two minutes after the successful abduction, Debbie received a call at the Café, informing her to go to a pre-arranged meeting point.
Debbie said to Jane Auclair, "Okay, let’s go. We’ll go to the next location, and you take the child to your place. You don’t need to worry about things here for the time being. If there’s anything, we’ll call and let you know."
"Since we’ve arranged for another location, I really don’t understand why we need to make this needless appearance here," Jane complained, but Debbie paid the bill and walked out, leaving Jane no choice but to follow.
For Elena’s abduction, Jane actually had another purpose. Since she couldn’t get the fifty million from Cole, she decided to get it from someone else. Daisy had luck on her side, as Cole had given her quite a lot of money, and Simon Carrington was also good to her. She had only recently found out about Simon’s net worth.
So, it seemed much easier to get fifty million from Daisy than from Cole.
After all, Jane wasn’t the mastermind behind the kidnapping, at most an accomplice. She was just using this opportunity to blackmail Daisy, and besides, Daisy was willing to give up everything for her precious daughter.
That was enough for Jane.
Of course, Debbie had no idea what Jane was thinking. She simply wanted Daisy to return the money she had taken from the Duncan Family. When the time came, she would give ten million of that sum to Jane, and they would be even.
The rest of the money could be used by Cole to continue his business. Even if they had to leave this place in the end, she would accept her fate.
The two arrived at another exchange location, an abandoned garbage dump. As soon as Jane got out of the car, the smell nearly made her throw up. Debbie wasn’t faring much better, but this place was the best negotiation site they could find.
