Chapter 641: Chapter 641: Parting Sorrow (5)

"It’s not exactly a worry, just that I haven’t figured out how to tell mom and dad about it yet." In front of Millie Campbell, Daisy Willow didn’t hide much. They got along well ever since Millie married her Big Brother.

"Tell me about it first then." It was clear to Samuel Willow that Daisy had something on her mind, and he invited her in to cut fruit precisely to help her share her concerns.

"Elena and I might be going abroad. I just accepted a job taking care of an elderly person who doesn’t have much time left. I couldn’t refuse, so I agreed to do it. We just got the family back together, and now we’re about to be separated again. I’m worried that mom and dad might get all sorts of ideas." Daisy sighed at the thought. At the time, she had considered refusing, but for some reason, she just couldn’t say no.

"Is it the lawyer’s grandfather?"

"Mhm." Daisy didn’t hide it anymore. This matter would have to be discussed eventually, so it was better to talk about it sooner rather than later.

"That money you gave us before, it’s not from the Duncan family, is it?" Millie was actually a bit apprehensive about using Duncan family’s money. Since she married Samuel Willow, she considered herself a member of the Willow family, and with all those nasty things the old woman from the Duncan family had said, she naturally wouldn’t want to use their money.

So the apartment they lived in was eventually registered under Elena’s name. In the Willow family, only Elena could openly use the Duncan family’s money without feeling ashamed. This way, even if the Duncan family found out, the Willow family wouldn’t feel humiliated.

"No, it’s my first-year salary paid to me by Simon Carrington. Don’t worry about it." Daisy knew that her brother and sister-in-law didn’t like the Duncan family. It was true that birds of a feather flock together.

"You should tell mom and dad about this sooner rather than later." Millie brought out the fruit plate.

Daisy held another plate of fruit. Everyone sat around the living room, watching TV with the two youngsters, enjoying their favorite cartoons. Evelyn Willow chose Little Fairies, thinking it was Elena’s favorite show.

"Come watch TV with us. This cantaloupe is very sweet." Samuel called out to his sister, Daisy.

"Okay." Daisy nodded, sat down, and Elena immediately snuggled up to her.

"Mom and Dad, I want to tell you something." Daisy eventually brought it up.

Surprisingly, her father seemed to have already anticipated what she was going to say, and he stiffly sat upright. Her mother, on the other hand, didn’t seem to notice anything, nonchalantly eating a piece of watermelon while commenting on how sweet it was.

This behavior, naturally, earned her a glare from her husband.

Unfazed, her mother said, "Go ahead, what’s the matter?"

"Well, I got a job offer, so Elena and I will be going abroad. We might come back in a year, or it might take two or three years." At that moment, that’s what Daisy thought. She believed that after taking care of the old master, she and Elena would return home. At this point in time, she hadn’t thought too much about it, and of course, there were some things she wouldn’t dare to think about given her current status.

"What sort of job requires you to go abroad?" Her mother asked innocently. As long as they would come back, it was okay. Just not a one-way trip.

Her mother’s thoughts were simple, but her father remained silent, pondering more than just that.

"What about the employer? Is it the lawyer?" Her father suddenly asked, his serious face making it impossible to tell whether he approved or disapproved.

Samuel had always known that his father, who had lived in a small town his entire life, was no simple man. The fact he quickly guessed the employer was Simon Carrington was evidence enough.

"Yes, it is. Master Carrington needs someone to take care of him, and he is quite satisfied with me, so he specially hired me. Of course, there are professional doctors for his health check-ups; I’ll only be responsible for his daily care." Daisy explained a bit.
