"Why are you here?" Andy Aguirre had just come out of the Operation Room and was washing his hands when he saw Carolline Ruiz push open the door.

"Have you been in contact with Gavin Campbell these past two days?" Carolline asked directly. She didn’t know about the situation over there and hadn’t paid much attention to it. When the news was playing, it wouldn’t just show Gavin and Charlotte Clark, but the entire group.

"What’s going on? Do you need something from him?" Andy was asked and felt somewhat confused. Gavin had only been gone for less than half a month, and they had made two phone calls. As for daily phone calls, Gavin would only do that with his parents.

"No, I just ran into Charlotte’s big brother, and he said he couldn’t get through to Charlotte’s phone." Carolline told Andy about her encounter with Edward Clark earlier.

"Are the Clarks sick or something? Don’t mobile phones sometimes lose signal? And even if Charlotte can’t be reached, what’s the use of coming to you?" Andy felt a bit overwhelmed when he heard this.

He once thought that what Megan Clifton said about the Clark Family was somewhat exaggerated, but now it seemed that his wife was completely right, even more than right.

The Clarks were all odd characters.

"..." Carolline shrugged, looking just as bewildered. She didn’t know what she could do if Charlotte couldn’t be reached.

"Then let’s go to the Campbell Family tonight if you’re free." Gavin was their friend, and if he really couldn’t be reached, they should at least ask.

"Maybe not. You can just call Gavin sometime or ask Mr. Campbell first. If there’s nothing wrong, there’s no need to worry them, right?" Carolline thought that if they went there suddenly, they might scare the old couple. Moreover, Andy’s words just now made sense.

"True, I’ll call him now." Andy said, dialing Gavin’s number. It rang twice, and Gavin picked up.

"What’s up, Andy? Miss me, or is there something up at my home?" Gavin spoke in a relaxed tone, seeming fine.

"Neither, just calling to make sure you’re still alive and kicking." Andy’s tone was completely uncourteous and direct. Carolline, listening from the side, couldn’t believe what she was hearing.

"..." Gavin felt a bit depressed. Although this was the way they talked with each other, but now they were far away, couldn’t the conversation have been a bit more touching?

"Alright, you’re alive and kicking, that’s good enough." Andy was about to hang up when he saw Carolline making a face at him. "By the way, are you together with Charlotte?"

"Charlotte? No, we’re not assigned by our respective hospitals but rather cross-assigned. I’m with a female nurse from Kyoto." Gavin said cheerfully. Having a female nurse by his side felt quite nice.

"Well then, enjoy your good fortune. No other business, I’m hanging up." Andy said and hung up the phone.

"The two of them aren’t together, that’s for the best. With someone like Charlotte, Gavin wouldn’t be able to bear it." Andy replied to Carolline. To him, he wasn’t particularly worried.

Carolline nodded, agreeing. She didn’t know much about Charlotte’s situation, but she didn’t think there was anything to worry about.

Time passed by the minute, and it was time to leave work. Carolline’s phone rang - it was Bryan Cooper. She answered, telling him she’d be off work shortly, and then hurried upstairs to change before leaving.

While waiting for the elevator, Carolline bumped into Edward Clark again. He saw Carolline. "Nurse Ruiz, I’m sorry to cause you trouble. Charlotte has been reached; her phone was out of power and she was helping with surgery."
