Chapter 633: Chapter 633: Gary Skate’s Identity (5)

"Someone like George Edwards is very respectful to me, which I’m not used to. And those flirty ones, they look at me with lust. That’s annoying too. In the entire hospital, it’s only you and Megan Clifton who don’t appreciate me. So, today’s lunch will either be with you or with a pregnant lady. What do you think, should I call Megan now?"

"..." Carolline Ruiz wanted to curse. How could this man say such blatant threats so calmly?

"Hmm, I’ll take your silence as agreement. I’ll go upstairs to get something and be right back." Gary Skate didn’t care about Carolline’s cursing him in her mind. After all, accepting someone’s request meant one should fulfill it loyally.

He had to make Carolline so fed up with him that being in the same hospital would annoy her. That way, their plan would have a better effect.

What else could Carolline do but agree with Gary? She couldn’t seriously let a pregnant woman like Megan Clifton accompany him, could she?

At 12:20, they both arrived at the cafeteria, catering to both staff and patients along with their families.

Their hospital cafeteria was relatively large, and the chef’s skill was pretty good. Many single or unmarried people, as well as those who didn’t want to cook at home, ate here. So, their arrival time was still the peak period.

Gary chose to come during peak hours to observe the employees’ meal situation and check the cafeteria’s hygiene and food ingredients.

At a glance, it looked quite nice. Gary had been in more than one hospital, and this was the first time he saw so many people choose to eat in the cafeteria. There were numerous small and large restaurants around the hospital, but other hospitals’ cafeteria traffic had been diverted significantly.

"It’s not bad." Gary sincerely sighed. He picked up two trays and handed one to Carolline.

Carolline took it and awkwardly said, "Thank you."

As everyone saw Gary and Carolline eating together in the cafeteria, they reacted cautiously. They saw Carolline by Gary’s side, and they all muttered underneath, though no one dared to say anything.

Carolline had eaten in the cafeteria a few times before. The taste and ingredients were good, even better than some shoddy restaurants. The prices were also reasonable, which was why many decided to eat there.

She genuinely believed that Gary could have just asked the staff and gotten their feedback instead of coming to try the food for himself.

Just look at how tense people became when he showed up.

Gary took more meat dishes, Carolline more vegetarian dishes, but in the end, Carolline swiped her Meal Card to pay because Gary didn’t have a cafeteria meal card prepared.

"I’m sorry. I meant to treat you, but in the end, you had to pay." Gary was polite, but his tone seemed matter-of-fact.

Well, the meal he treated her to could offset several cafeteria meals she might’ve treated him to.

"It’s fine. I don’t eat here often anyway, and the money on the Meal Card was a gift from work." Carolline focused on her food and didn’t really want to talk to Gary.

Gary knew Carolline wasn’t in the mood to chat but could still find things to talk about."

"So, what do you think about the previous incident with the dean?" By rights, the illegitimate daughter and mistress were private matters of the dean. However, due to the dean’s unique status, the so-called private matter hadn’t yet completely passed.
