Chapter 616: Chapter 616: Celia Wade Awakens (4)
"... she hasn’t woken up yet." Carolline told the truth, without wanting to hide it from Celia. "The doctor said that if she doesn’t wake up within seventy-two hours, she might become a vegetable."
"...vegetable?" Celia repeated softly.
Just when Carolline thought Celia would break down again, and she had mentally prepared herself to endure it, Celia didn’t react at all.
"It’s better if she doesn’t wake up, she won’t be so tired if she doesn’t. She won’t need to run back and forth." Celia suddenly sighed, sounding very calm and collected.
Bryan Hawkins Carolline: "..."
Both were somewhat surprised, could it be that the shock was too overwhelming for Celia, making her somewhat unclear? Was she still okay?
"Celia, Celia..." Carolline called softly, fearing that she would scare her.
"I’m fine, Carolline. Help me comb my hair, I want to go see him," Celia suddenly smiled, which caught Carolline off guard.
After hesitating for a while, Carolline began helping Celia with her hair, and then Bryan Hawkins looked for a nurse to get a wheelchair to take Celia to the room next door.
It wasn’t that Celia couldn’t walk, but Carolline didn’t want her to get tired, especially given she had just finished surgery. Even if she was okay, she still needed to be careful.
Celia leaned against the window, quietly watching Jordy Wade, who was lying on the hospital bed wrapped in bandages, much more than she was. She only had gauze on her, but Jordy must have fractures.
The second before the accident, Jordy had let go of the steering wheel and threw himself over her, shielding her beneath his body. It was a miracle that neither of them died in such a gruesome accident.
In reality, she wished that they could both die, so they wouldn’t be so tired. Her father would also be happy, and she could run to the netherworld to apologize to her mother. Truthfully, sometimes she felt she had lived enough, and she was tired of living.
But strangely enough, those who crave death never seem to achieve it. Even so, a fresh start would be nice.
She thought she might be reborn like characters in novels, either in someone else’s body or back to a time before any tragedy has befallen her. If so, she’d have at least gained experience on how to deal with problems and face them head-on, instead of acting like a headstrong child.
But in the end, nothing happened.
She woke up, while Jordy was becoming a vegetable.
Being in this state was good, at least he could put down the burden on his shoulders, and from now on, she would take care of everything for him.
Since he no longer had the right to make choices, she would be the only one making decisions from now on. Thinking about this, Celia suddenly smiled.
The nurses passing by were frightened by Celia’s calm smile. Bryan Hawkins didn’t quite understand, but Carolline, who was close to Celia, did. So, she waited quietly.
Five minutes later, Celia asked Carolline to take her back to her room, and Carolline complied.
Bryan Hawkins went to buy breakfast, and also called Megan Clifton, asking her to take leave on Carolline’s behalf.
Carolline accompanied Celia, "Celia, I’ll let the nurse come in to continue your IV drip. You just had surgery, so you still need a few days of anti-inflammatory liquid, okay?"
"Let them come," Celia nodded, approving.
"Mhm." Carolline said, letting the waiting caretaker outside call the nurse in.
With Celia’s cooperation, everything went more smoothly. Soon, the nurse set up the IV drip and finally left with peace of mind.
