After all, Jordy Wade had helped him a lot before, and their friendship had already been established. Now that this had happened, him stepping up to help was only right.

"Mhm." Carolline nodded and began to eat the food in the takeout box quickly.

It was actually quite delicious. The rice was from Li’s Roast Goose Restaurant, a place that Carolline used to love eating at. When she craved something, she and Axel would often order takeout from there.

Her husband really knew her well. They were now close to the suburbs, and Li’s Roast Goose is in the city district. The delivery fee was not cheap.

Carolline finished the rice in the box, and only then did Bryan Hawkins feel satisfied. She also drank a cup of pork rib and corn soup and ended up letting out a satisfied burp.

Axel didn’t come back, so naturally, Richard Ward and Aunt Lu stayed at the Hawkins’ house to accompany him.

When Carolline returned home, she changed her shoes and lazily leaned into the living room sofa, lost in thought.

Bryan Hawkins came over, poured her a glass of water, rubbed her messy hair, and said with affection, "Don’t worry, with you by her side, Celia will definitely make it through this. You need to cheer up, understand?"

"I want to call Mr. Wade." Even knowing the estranged relationship between Mr. Wade and Celia, Carolline still wanted to try. After all, Mr. Wade was Celia’s only remaining family now.

"Mr. Wade, hi, this is Carolline, your former neighbor." When Henry Ruiz had not been assigned a house by his employer, their family lived on the same street as Celia, as next-door neighbors.

"Oh, I remember. What’s the matter?" Mr. Wade’s voice was slightly warmer than before.

"Celia had a car accident, and she hasn’t woken up yet, Mr. Wade..." Just as Carolline was about to continue, Mr. Wade interrupted her, "Carolline, don’t tell me about Celia’s matters anymore. Regardless of whether she’s simply unconscious or if she dies, it has nothing to do with me. That’s all. If there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up."
