Chapter 595: Chapter 595: Simon Carrington’s Invitation (8)
First, I need to find something to eat.
Carolline hung up the phone and looked up to see that someone had already returned to the bedroom, with some water droplets still on his chest. Obviously, he had already taken a shower. "Axel didn’t ask you to tell him a story?"
"Yeah, I told him that only little kids listen to stories before bed." Bryan Hawkins said with a smile. He took out a hairdryer from the drawer, quickly dried his hair, and then jumped onto the bed.
"...What are you doing?" In less than two minutes, Carolline began to complain.
"Where is your hand touching?" It was still Carolline’s voice.
"Hey, hey, I..."
Then, Carolline went completely silent, and the room lights were instantly turned off.

When Simon Carrington arrived in G City, it was only 10 o’clock in the morning. He found a place to have breakfast tea and then called Daisy Willow.
Daisy took Elena with her to meet Simon. It took them half an hour. Elena was overjoyed that Uncle Simon had invited her for breakfast tea, and she couldn’t wait for Daisy to grab her bag before she yelled to go out.
"Uncle Simon!" As soon as she saw Simon, Elena rushed over to him. She had never been so enthusiastic towards Cole Duncan before.
Simon picked up Elena and put her on his lap. "Did you miss Uncle Simon?"
"Yes," Elena nodded her head.
"Uncle Simon missed you too. What do you want to eat? Let your mom help you get it. Uncle Simon will treat you." Simon spoke to Elena while Daisy nodded to him and then went to get some food.
When the three of them sat down together, and after Daisy and Elena had eaten some food, Simon said to Daisy, "I’m sorry, but you probably heard that my grandfather is seriously ill. So I can’t refuse his requests completely. I apologize for any difficulties this causes you."
"No, don’t say that, Mr. Carrington." Daisy hurriedly shook her head. Simon’s help would make it easier for her to repay him. Besides, it was only a visit to an elderly person who was seriously ill.
"Well, I’ve booked a flight for this evening. Is it convenient for you?" Simon asked, nodding his head, not being courteous with her.
"Yes," Daisy nodded. These days, her elder brother and sister-in-law were busy looking for a storefront, and her son Kent was being taken care of by his grandparents, so taking Elena out for a few days shouldn’t be a problem.
"Mom, where are we going with Uncle Simon?" Elena raised her little head as she nibbled on a chicken foot and asked sweetly.
"We’re going to visit Uncle Simon’s house. Do you want to go, Elena?" Before Daisy answered, Simon helped her to answer.
"Yes, are there little friends at Uncle Simon’s house?" Elena nodded, eager to make new friends.
"Of course. There’s a big sister and a little brother." Simon replied with a smile.
"Mom, let’s go," Elena said to Daisy.
"Alright," Daisy had already agreed to Simon’s request.
As the three of them enjoyed their breakfast tea, the passing waitstaff all thought they were a family of three. In another corner of the Main Hall, Cole Duncan had also come out for breakfast tea because he was bored at home, so he had asked a servant girl named Xiaolian to accompany him.
However, no one expected to see Daisy and Elena here having breakfast tea with Simon. And they certainly didn’t expect Elena’s enthusiasm towards Simon, which made Cole feel envious.
It seemed as if Simon was Elena’s father and Cole was a stranger.
"Young Master, that’s the young lady and her daughter. Shall we go over and say hello?" Xiaolian naturally noticed Daisy and Elena, as well as the capable lawyer, Simon.
"That’s the former young lady," Cole turned his gaze away and looked to one side. The Duncan Family’s company had already gone public, and he didn’t have anything to do. In the future, he would really be a useless person.
"...Yes, I misspoke." Xiaolian lowered her head. These days, with Mrs. Duncan away, life in the Duncan Family had been better. The villa was about to be sold, and the Duncan Family was really going to collapse.
Xiaolian was quite worried about her future. Cole had already dismissed many servants, leaving only a few. Including her, there were fewer than ten left. The Duncan home used to be so glamorous.
Especially in the years just after Cole had married Daisy. It wasn’t long after Xiaolian had joined the family. At that time, her young master was so spirited and Daisy was so beautiful. Many older Aunties even said that Daisy had the face of fortune and soon after, Cole’s career bloomed.
But unfortunately, Daisy didn’t receive Mrs. Duncan’s favor. Mrs. Duncan made life difficult for Daisy at every turn, and it was unbearable for the servants to watch.
"It’s not about you."
"..." Xiaolian said nothing.
"Go get whatever you want to eat by yourself. Today, the young master can still treat you, but not too far in the future, I may not even be able to afford this." Cole jokingly said to Xiaolian.
"Young Master..." Xiaolian felt very sentimental.
"I’m fine. Go ahead." Cole closed his eyes, wanting to rest.
Xiaolian went to get some food for Cole, all of which he enjoyed eating. Cole glanced at it without saying anything. "Well, has Mrs. Duncan returned yet?"
"No," No one knew where Mrs. Duncan had gone these days.
"..."
Meanwhile, outside Daisy’s old house, Mrs. Duncan had been knocking on the door non-stop. The door didn’t open, but the neighbor’s door did. "The Willow Family has left. They went to G City and should be settling there. What do you want with them?"
"..." They went to G City? Mrs. Duncan didn’t expect that in just a few days, the family would leave. Ha, how nice. She thought, so giving the money to this woman would ensure Elena’s future? This woman had taken the money to support her lover and family. By the time Elena grew up, there probably wouldn’t be much left. She must not let Daisy’s calculations succeed!
Just as she was figuring things out, she immediately went back to tell her son what had happened.
Daisy Willow, her malicious intentions were deep enough.
The neighbor cursed Mrs. Duncan as ’crazy’ and slammed the door closed.
Mrs. Duncan immediately booked a train ticket. At this time, she wouldn’t arrive back until evening. She never wanted to come to Daisy’s old house before. She felt it was too troublesome since there were no planes to the area.
When she got on the train, she called Cole, but no one picked up even after a long time.
