"I hope the rumors about the lawyer and I didn’t lead to their divorce. If that’s the case, I will feel guilty..." Daisy was worried about this.

On the way, Axel complained to Carolline, "Mum, how can Elena, who is so smart, have such a dumb brother like Evelyn Willow?"

When mother and son returned home, Bryan Hawkins had just finished work. Before Carolline could prepare dinner, Axel ran over and repeated the day’s events to his dad. Both father and son agreed that Evelyn Willow was indeed a dumbbell.

Carolline glared at Bryan Hawkins, turned around and went to the kitchen to prepare dinner. She washed the rice and added some mung beans, preparing to make a pot of cooling mung bean porridge.

Bryan Hawkins ran over to help. Taking her opportunity, Carolline said, "Axel may not understand, but you’re an adult and you’re actually calling a six-year-old child a dumbbell. I can’t believe you’d say such a thing."

"But isn’t Axel under six? That little guy did act quite silly today, no wonder Axel didn’t want to tell you. You don’t know what happened with the kids today, do you?" Bryan Hawkins disagreed with Carolline.

Kids are just the way they are, they can’t be changed by denial or resistance.

"I couldn’t care less about you two. No matter what has happened, it’s best not to say disrespectful words, especially as you are an adult." Carolline turned around to get two cucumbers from the fridge for a cucumber salad later.

She also planned to make a cold black fungus salad and a stir-fried bitter gourd with egg. These refreshing and appetizing dishes would go well with the meal.

"Alright, alright, let’s drop this." Bryan Hawkins moved in, encircled his arms around Carolline’s waist and gave a soothing rub beside her ear. "I haven’t seen you for a whole day. Did you miss me?"

He wanted Carolline to stay with him since she was off work today, but Carolline had to pick up the Willow family. He had no choice but to stay busy at the company alone.

"It was nine o’clock in the morning when we last saw each other, and now it’s only five in the afternoon. Is that what you call a day? Let me go. You stay with Axel. I’ll make a simple meal. By the way, ask your Aunt Lu and Uncle Lei if they’re coming over for dinner tonight." Carolline swatted away Bryan Hawkins’ roaming hands.
