Chapter 572: Chapter 572: Sweetness Continues (1)

The dinner was simple, featuring several varieties of congee and various appetizers. There was a bonfire party in the evening, which included a roasted whole lamb to feast on. Despite this, no one ate much.

Everyone was quite satisfied with Bryan Hawkins’ arrangements.

Given the large crowd, even the plain congee and minor dishes took a long time to eat as everyone chatted and dined. It was only when Axel kept glancing at the time that by half past eight, the little guy was no longer interested.

"Dad, isn’t the party about to start? Let’s hurry up, or we won’t get a good spot." The little guy was incredibly anxious. Earlier that afternoon, he had called Elena Duncan, who had told him to take many pictures to show her when school resumed.

As such, Axel was in quite a hurry.

"Alright, let’s leave the food and head there together." Having slept for quite some time in the afternoon, Mrs. Hawkins was quite energetic at the moment. With Axel as the center of her universe, she naturally agreed to his demands.

The large group began moving towards the dam where the bonfire party was about to be held. Approaching Bryan Hawkins, the duty manager said, "Mr. Hawkins, you are our hotel’s VIPs. The VIP seats are ready, here are your VIP passes."

"Thank you." responded Bryan Hawkins, receiving the passes from the hotel manager.

Axel was ecstatic. Hugging Bryan, he wouldn’t let go. "Dad, you’re amazing! Does this count as having a ’backstage pass’?"

"..." Bryan chuckled. How did such a young child even know about ’backstage passes’? He felt genuinely dazed. "Not exactly. We have spent enough at this hotel to meet their VIP standards."

"Oh, anyway, with these tickets, we should be able to get really good seats right?" Axel thought for a moment but was still most concerned about the quality of pictures he would take later.

"Well, you could say that. What is it that you want to do?" Bryan asked, walking forward holding Axel’s hand.

"I want to take photos to bring back and show Elena." responded Axel frankly and straightforwardly.

"I see." So it was for Elena. Bryan nodded understandingly. He was growing more and more suspicious — with his son caring so much for that little girl, was there a chance Elena would become his daughter-in-law in the future?

It wasn’t that he disliked Elena, but he felt that with Axel’s life being determined at such a young age, wouldn’t there be regrets in the future?

However, how should he bring up such an issue with Axel? He was sure his son hadn’t developed such a concept yet and wouldn’t understand the difference between his current affections and the ones he would experience as an adult.

Perhaps it’s best to let nature take its course. Mrs. Hawkins would probably scold him for overthinking if he were to tell her about this.

The bonfire party was pretty much the same everywhere. It started with locals dancing around the bonfire to local dances or various ethnic dances. Initially, only the local party members would participate. Then, gradually, some cheerful and optimistic tourists would join in the singing and dancing for about two hours.

Then, there was the roasted whole lamb. This was taken care of directly by the hotel manager at their accommodation, so Bryan didn’t have to worry about anything.

As the bonfire party came to an end, each family would go buy grilled lamb and lamb soup. Bryan reserved a tent where everyone could sit and enjoy the meal.

Avie Ruiz was dragging Carolline Ruiz to dance up a storm. This was a rare chance for Carolline to let loose. As long as there were beats and music, they could have a riotous party. Dancing ability was completely irrelevant in this environment. No one would laugh at you; you could dance freely, laugh heartily, and just let go.
