What Charlotte Clark did not expect was, not only was she mortified now, but what awaited her was an even more disastrous situation.

For dinner, the loving husband, Bryan Hawkins, prepared plenty of hairy crabs, specifically the ones beloved by his wife from Suntar Lake. He had initially planned to introduce her to other brands, fearing Carolline Ruiz might not be used to it, but eventually only ordered the brand that Carolline loved.

The attendees numbered almost forty. Ten per table, Bryan had reserved two adjoining private rooms, each table adorned with two large plates of plump and exquisite hairy crabs.

As they arrived at the door, the waiter began serving the dishes. So when they reached the door of the private room, all the dishes were already served and steaming hot.

The food was abundant, especially the hairy crabs that made everyone drool with craving.

Although this season was not ideal for having hairy crabs, for the food one likes, there is no distinction between good or bad seasons.

Looking at this, Carolline felt a little terrified, this man, wouldn’t he come across as a tycoon, trying to make everyone jealous, right?

Before dinner, Bryan Hawkins even gave a five-minute speech. It was straightforward: he asked everyone not to misunderstand his relationship with Phoebe Miller, explaining that he and Phoebe were a thing of the past, and belonged to the past. His present and future belong to his wife, Carolline. At the end of the year, they would celebrate and enjoy drinks.

Though it wasn’t a particularly passionate confession, such affirmation left no one questioning things between him and Carolline. This deep affection, surely, wasn’t that unrelated to love?

If all this was loveless, then what would their belief in beautiful and perennial love mean?

Everyone has their past, as long as the past really becomes the past, it doesn’t matter, right?

The dinner lasted a long time. As Andy Aguirre expected, a few male doctors, led by Gavin Campbell, tried to get Bryan drunk. But no one expected Bryan’s tolerance for alcohol was surprisingly high; Gavin got drunk, yet Bryan seemed completely sober.

"Mr. Hawkins, we... we admit defeat..." Gavin Campbell was no match for Bryan Hawkins. After admitting defeat, he rushed to the restroom in the private room, closed the door and began to retch heavily.

Andy Aguirre had not expected Bryan Hawkins to be so formidable. He held deep respect for him. Before Megan Clifton got pregnant, at their hospital’s annual dinner, Gavin Campbell would join forces with others to get him drunk. Now, Bryan Hawkins had finally avenged him.

Tomorrow, when Gavin sobers up, he needs to mock him a lot, letting him who usually struts around proclaiming that he doesn’t get drunk, face humiliation.

Bryan Hawkins did feel some effects, unlike the nothingness that Andy and others perceived. It was just on the edge of his tolerance, enough for him to bear.

The result of drinking a lot is frequent trips to the restroom. The toilets in both private rooms were occupied by drunken people who needed to vomit. Hence, Bryan Hawkins had to rise and go to the public restroom outside.

Charlotte Clark had also drunk a lot and followed him to the restroom outside.

Carolline Ruiz was engrossed in eating hairy crab. She did have a special fondness for hairy crabs. When she wasn’t eating them, she didn’t crave much. But once she tasted the delicious hairy crab, she would get quite greedy.

Therefore, she hadn’t noticed that that b*tch, Charlotte Clark, had quietly followed her husband out of the private room.

Megan Clifton, however, did notice, but she held her tongue. She believed that this fool, Charlotte Clark, just like the past, would only humiliate herself, so since it would lead to such an outcome, she was happy to let it be.

She was really looking forward to Charlotte Clark’s expression when she came back.
