Chapter 460: Chapter 460: Wishes Come True (4)

Carolline thought for a moment and sprinkled the crushed broccoli onto the freshly baked steamed pork ribs, skipping a side dish of stir-fried broccoli.

The two of them had enough to eat with three dishes and one soup.

Bryan Cooper was actually quite embarrassed. Seeing Carolline’s expression, he knew she had made a mistake, but he admired her quick thinking. Otherwise, a perfectly good broccoli would have gone to waste, which he actually quite liked.

Bryan was especially proactive in helping to serve the dishes, dished up two bowls of rice, and poured two small bowls of soup, nutritious and satisfying.

Bryan took out his phone to take pictures of the three beautifully presented dishes and one soup, snapping multiple photos. Carolline shook her head as she watched him, taking a sip of chicken soup. "What’s there to photograph about ordinary home-cooked meals? You run a hotel and must have tasted all kinds of gourmet food, right?"

In front of others, her cooking skills might be considered decent, like in front of Celia Wade and Avery. But in front of Daisy Willow, her cooking was not impressive, let alone in front of the famous Bryan Cooper who ran a hotel. She didn’t dare to show off in front of him. After all, even a junior chef under his command would outshine her, let alone a top chef.

"None of the food out there can compare to what my wife makes personally, right? In my eyes, my wife’s cooking is even better than the top chefs in my hotel." Bryan knew how to sweet-talk.

This change was the biggest in Carolline’s eyes. In the past, she would never have thought Bryan would say such things to her. She liked hearing them though; she was just an ordinary woman who enjoyed hearing sweet words from the man she loved.

"Let’s eat." Carolline finished a bowl of chicken soup while Bryan was still taking pictures.

"Alright." Obediently, Bryan put his phone on the table and concentrated on eating.

Bryan stopped putting on the sweet talk to avoid arousing suspicion and decided that the best way to prove himself to her was by eating everything she made.

Since there were only two of them, Carolline controlled the portion sizes of each dish perfectly, and she knew men had a bigger appetite than women, so she made several dishes.

Ultimately, Bryan was satisfied and even volunteered to wash the dishes.

But as Carolline thought of the broken broccoli, she declined. She knew the kitchenware in her kitchen wasn’t cheap, and she would feel heartbroken if any of it was broken. More importantly, she worried that the kitchen would be flooded after Bryan washed the dishes. It was better for her to do it herself.

As Carolline washed the dishes, Bryan received a call from Axel, who expressed his longing for both his father and mother. Tomorrow was Friday, and as agreed, Axel was going to his grandparents’ house for calligraphy practice. So Axel was concerned about who would pick him up at noon tomorrow.

In the end, Bryan told Axel to have the family driver take him, as he and his mother had things to do tomorrow and neither of them could find time to take him there. Axel was a little disappointed.

"Axel, be good. On Saturday, Daddy will pick you up and take you and Elena Duncan for steaks. How does that sound?" Bryan knew how to cheer his son up.

"OK, thank you, dad." Axel immediately cheered up on the phone.

"Alright then, your mom is cleaning by herself, so I should go help her." Bryan looked at Carolline, who was busy in the kitchen, and suddenly felt a bit romantic and didn’t want to be alone talking with his son.

"Alright, bye, dad." Axel hung up the phone contentedly.
