"I don’t want to go back." Daisy Willow shook her head. Cole Duncan had the key to that house, and in the morning, he could have given it to Katie, letting her in. She couldn’t risk him giving his mother the key too.

"I was thinking the same thing. I’ll drive you somewhere later, and until the divorce case is resolved, you can live there. I have a friend who lives there alone, and I’m sure she’ll be happy to have you two accompany her." Carolline said.

Carolline thought of Celia Wade. A three-bedroom house, spacious enough for even Daisy Willow and her daughter. Moreover, Daisy knew how to cook, and Celia would be able to come home from work to a warm dinner, not eating out if she didn’t need to. So she’d surely be delighted.

"Ah? Wouldn’t that be too much of a bother? I have some money left; I’ll just take Elena to a hotel." Daisy Willow didn’t want to trouble Carolline and her friends any further. She’d already caused enough trouble for Carolline.

"It won’t be a bother. Save your money; there will be more places to use it in the future. And I’ll have my husband arrange a job for you at his company, proving you have a stable income. Even if you’re not as financially capable as Cole Duncan, but he can’t even take care of himself now, so he won’t be able to outcompete you."
