Chapter 411: Chapter 411: Lingering Evil Spirits (6)

"Alright, I’ll call you again tonight. You can get some more sleep," Bryan Hawkins nodded, just wanting to chat with her for a bit.

After hanging up the phone, Carolline Ruiz happily rolled around in bed. She couldn’t sleep last night because she was worried about him, and now she couldn’t sleep because she was happy knowing his news.

Unable to sleep, Carolline got up and made herself breakfast.

At noon, David Murphy drove himself to Suite 1608 of the Sunshine Hotel. Xavier Estrada had already ordered their lunch and then went to the restaurant to handle it himself.

Bryan Hawkins opened a bottle of red wine and David Murphy didn’t refuse. He was preoccupied with Verina and was not actually here to eat. "So what’s the situation? Tell me about it."

"Let’s eat and catch up. Verina’s situation is being handled," Bryan Hawkins casually said, not as worried as David. After all, things had happened, and now he just needed to deal with them one by one.

"Damn, you’re really not in a rush like an emperor while his eunuchs are anxiously scrambling. If this matter could be easily resolved, your subordinates would have handled it. Why would you need to come to City A personally?" David Murphy knew his way of handling things too well.

"It’s not too late to look for you when I can’t handle it."

"But it’s not a solution for Verina to be closed all the time." The hotel business, once such accidents happened, would inevitably be affected. Especially for a famous hotel like Verina.

"Letting them rest for a few days is fine. Of course, now that you’re in a high position, it wouldn’t hurt to avoid suspicion. But, what do you think of Charles Carrington?" Bryan Hawkins asked casually while drinking red wine and eating meat.

"He’s very dedicated to his work, has good connections, and is quite personable. He even gave up a promotion opportunity to a younger person," David Murphy shared what he knew about Charles Carrington.

"Hmm," Bryan Hawkins calmly replied, willing to hear whatever David Murphy had to say without actively probing further. But to understand someone, it’s essential to listen to what others have to say about him.

It would be impossible to learn anything from someone too close to Charles Carrington. That’s why Bryan Hawkins had invited David Murphy to lunch at this time.

"By the way, he treasures his daughter very much. I heard that she was dating a young man named Frank Ferguson recently," David Murphy didn’t want to gossip, but he wasn’t sure if talking about Charles’s family matters would be helpful to the situation.

"Frank Ferguson?" Bryan Hawkins immediately grew sensitive to the name.

If he remembered correctly, Matilda Ferguson’s brother was named Frank Ferguson. Was this the same Frank Ferguson?

"How come? Do you know him?" David Murphy didn’t expect Bryan Hawkins to be so sensitive to the future son-in-law’s name.

"You remember Matilda Ferguson, right? She has a younger brother named Frank Ferguson," Bryan Hawkins took another sip of wine. So, were the Fergusons planning to take revenge on him?

"You mean he’s that crazy woman’s brother? That Matilda Ferguson just won’t leave you alone," David Murphy had never liked Matilda. She was too opportunistic and goal-oriented. Back then, he had told Bryan Hawkins that she wasn’t right for him, but Bryan didn’t seem to heed his advice and eventually suffered the consequences.

"I don’t know yet. I’ll have to check it out," Bryan Hawkins said, calling Xavier Estrada to ask him to investigate Frank Ferguson, who was now Charles Carrington’s daughter’s boyfriend.

After receiving the order, Xavier Estrada left the hotel without finishing his meal.
