Chapter 396: Chapter 396: Everyone Has a Share (8)

Moreover, even with surgery, there was no guarantee of how long life could be sustained.

In the end, the Carrington family decided, after three days and nights of discussions, to follow the master’s wishes, give up on the surgery, and leave everything to fate.

Following this decision, Henry Ruiz naturally returned.

"..." None of them said anything, as everyone has their own choices to make. Especially those in the medical field, they have seen life and death countless times, so they have become accustomed to it. It is not that they are heartless, but rather, they face the natural course of human life with rationality.

Bryan Hawkins and Carolline Ruiz also went upstairs, Carolline worried about Simon Carrington, wondering how his relationship with his grandfather was. It should be a good one; otherwise, he wouldn’t have come directly from Kyoto to G City to find Henry Ruiz.

If his emotions were affected, it was uncertain whether he would still be able to help Daisy Willow.

These past few days, Carolline had not contacted Daisy Willow, and Daisy Willow had not actively contacted her either, so she had no idea how things were on her end.

Henry hadn’t eaten yet, so Emily Hill cooked some noodles for him. Bryan Hawkins joined Carolline and Axel in the living room, watching cartoons with Axel. Emily Hill then told Henry about what happened in the old mansion.

"...Has Dad not gotten angry?" Henry was curious about the master’s attitude.

"Yeah, not only was he not angry, but he was also very kind to Bryan Cooper." Emily Hill nodded. "This Bryan Cooper sure knows how to win people’s hearts, no wonder his business is so successful. If he can read people’s hearts so well, there’s nothing he can’t negotiate."

Emily Hill sang praises for Bryan Hawkins in every sentence.

Henry smiled, quickly finished his noodles, and then went to the living room where Axel, understanding that grandpa wanted to talk to his parents, lowered the TV volume considerably.

"Bryan Hawkins, I’m taking these next few days off. If there’s nothing going on with your parents and grandmother, let’s have a meeting, shall we?" Henry didn’t want to drag this matter on any longer. The sooner it was resolved, the better for everyone involved.

"Thank you, Dad. My grandmother and the others have been looking forward to this for a long time." Bryan Hawkins recalled how his grandmother brought up this matter on her birthday, insisting that he remembered it. He said he did but, unfortunately, Henry had been busy with other affairs.

"Alright, then you guys can arrange the time for the meeting. Once it’s arranged, just let your mom and me know." Henry nodded. "By the way, your mother told me that you’ve already given your grandfather, as well as your second and third uncles, their meeting gifts today. After this, you don’t need to give them any more."

He knew that his two brothers weren’t a problem, but his two sisters-in-law were bottomless pits. If he indulged them, who knew what they would expect in the future?

"Yeah, I got it, Dad." Bryan Hawkins nodded, understanding clearly.

"Okay, I’m going back to my room to rest. You guys can do whatever you want." Henry was tired from these past few days of running around.

"You guys should pack up and go back to your own homes." Emily Hill came out after washing the bowls and directly started shooing them away.

"Mom, aren’t you being a bit too practical? Now that Dad’s back, you don’t even want to see our faces anymore, right?" Carolline, being straightforward, grumbled in dissatisfaction. Today, she had eaten too much and was planning to go for a walk.

"What I mean is, our house is small, and the three of you staying here must be uncomfortable, right?" In Carolline’s opinion, Bryan Hawkins must be suffering. Every day when he got up and rubbed his waist, Carolline could tell that he was uncomfortable with the small bed due to his large stature.

"You sure know how to make excuses for yourself. Axel, come on, pack up your backpack, and we’ll go home. While we’re at it, let’s go see Auntie Celia." Carolline stood up and called for Axel.

"Ok, sure." Axel obediently responded.

Bryan Hawkins took the initiative to stand up and help Axel pack up in his room. Meanwhile, Carolline went to the balcony to make a call to Daisy Willow.

However, just as she was about to make the call, Simon Carrington called her first. "Carolline, are you free?"

"Yeah, I’m free. What’s up?" Carolline nodded.

"Has your uncle arrived yet?"

"He’s here. Don’t worry."

"That’s good. I’ll be in G City in three days. I want to meet the parties involved first. I have some questions and need to get some information." Simon said after reviewing the documents Carolline sent him. The chances of winning the lawsuit were quite high, and the evidence was solid.

He just had a few questions he needed to ask the parties involved. After that, they could finalize a contract and establish a working relationship.

"Alright, I’ll arrange everything immediately. Let’s set the meeting for the second day after you arrive. I’ll send the specific time and place to your phone."

"Sounds good. I’ll let you go now."

"Simon, how are you doing? Don’t be too upset." Carolline tried to comfort her friend.

"Don’t worry, I’m fine." Simon gave a faint smile. His problems were not limited to his grandfather.

After Carolline hung up the call, she saw a certain someone’s face appear silently in front of her. "You told me you have nothing going on with them, but look at this, you’re already worrying about them, huh?"

Bryan Hawkins’ tone was sour.

"Can’t I even care about a friend? You can be even more petty if you want." These few days, their relationship had been clearly good, with their nightly intimacy leaving her breathless. Yet he was still jealous, making her fed up with him.

Carolline walked out of the balcony and, holding Axel’s hand, headed towards the door first.

Bryan Hawkins said goodbye to Emily Hill before chasing after the mother and son. Sure enough, Carolline, being sly, entered the elevator first and wasn’t going to wait for him. If it weren’t for his quick reflexes, he wouldn’t have made it onto the elevator.

Carolline turned her head away and ignored him. He was so jealous, so she had to think of a way to punish him later, or it would never end.

However, Bryan Hawkins had a completely different idea. He thought of how to tease her now so that he could make her beg for mercy later that night.

The three of them drove away, and Bryan Hawkins parked the car directly in front of a pharmacy. Carolline was puzzled, but Bryan Hawkins didn’t explain and just walked into the store.

"Mom, is Dad feeling unwell?" Axel asked worriedly.

"I don’t know, he didn’t tell me..." Carolline also looked into the pharmacy, genuinely concerned that Bryan Hawkins might be feeling unwell, or else why would he go to a pharmacy?

After waiting for a while without seeing Bryan Hawkins come out, Carolline planned to get out of the car to check on him. As soon as he exited the store, he proudly held up a bag with a blush-inducing logo.

Carolline couldn’t help but curse inwardly, wondering how much he had bought.

"Dad, what did you buy?" Curious Axel, at this age, simply couldn’t help being curious.

"An umbrella." Without shame, Bryan Hawkins responded.

Axel was perplexed, wondering if there really were such strangely shaped umbrellas in this world.

Meanwhile, Carolline’s face turned even redder.
