Chapter 391: Chapter 391: Everyone Has a Share (3)

"I have." Axel nodded vigorously.

"Xiaowei, could you please help distribute them, and try to make sure everyone gets one?" Emily Hill approached and spoke to the young man who was helping Bryan Hawkins, then pulled Carolline aside and said to Bryan, "Bryan, I just asked you to be as thoughtful as possible with the gifts, but I didn’t expect you to be this thoughtful! Alright, go check on the kitchen now, we don’t know how to entertain those Top Chefs you brought."

They haven’t even come out to take a sip of the tea they were served.

"Mom, there’s no need to entertain them. When they’re done, they can just leave." Bryan didn’t mind. In his hotel, they already enjoyed the highest level of treatment. What’s wrong with helping him out this time?

"Uh... Okay then." Emily Hill could only keep quiet.

"Where’s Grandpa?" Looking around, it seemed they hadn’t seen the Ruiz Family patriarch.

"He’s inside waiting for you all." Emily Hill said, leading them inside.

The old master was already sitting in the living room, leaning on his cane, appearing as the head of the family. In fact, his heart was filled with joy. He always said that the descendants of the Ruiz Family would one day bring honor to their ancestors. Though he had no impressive skills and was just a village elder, his children and grandchildren had done him proud.

He just never expected that Carolline, whom he was always least satisfied with, would become so prominent.

"Grandpa, I’m sorry for being late." Bryan was pulled over to the old master by Axel. Bryan spoke humbly, and Axel couldn’t help but interject, "Dad, Great Grandpa just taught me how to practice calligraphy."

"Really? Thank you, Grandpa." Bryan thanked him on Axel’s behalf. The old master’s calligraphy was quite famous in G City; someone had once offered a high price to buy his work, but he refused to sell it and instead donated it to a museum for free.

Thus, the old master had his high moral standing. Of his three sons, the eldest, Henry Ruiz, was the most like him – indifferent to fame and wealth.

People generally have two sides to them. While the old master could live a simple life and maintain his high moral character, he still wished for his children and grandchildren to live better lives. That’s why he demanded that Jasmine Ruiz, Carolline, and the unmarried Avie Ruiz find good families to marry into if possible.

Life for women shouldn’t be too meager.

On the other hand, he hoped that the sons of the Ruiz Family could create their own future through hard work.

"No need for formalities, he’s my great-grandson." The old master said indifferently. Although he was happy inside, he couldn’t let it show on the surface, especially since Bryan had caused the Ruiz Family and Carolline so much suffering. He couldn’t forgive him so easily and let him know that they had forgiven him. He couldn’t be like Henry Ruiz and Emily Hill, who compromised so readily.

What he meant was that Axel was part of the Ruiz Family, so there was no need for Bryan to thank him as a father.

"Bryan, this is your Second Uncle, Second Aunt, Third Uncle, and Third Aunt." Emily Hill spoke up at the right time, alleviating Bryan’s embarrassment.

Bryan called each of them one by one, and they all nodded their heads. As elders, even though Bryan came empty-handed, they still had to acknowledge him. However, Bonnie Jenkins and Natalie Parton, being women, were very unhappy in their hearts. They felt that Bryan had given such generous gifts to neighbors, but hadn’t done the same for his own family.

Of course, they knew that Emily Hill probably thought there was no need for such formalities among family members, unlike with outsiders. But their thinking was entirely different – they believed that family members should be even more generous. After all, this was Bryan’s first time visiting the Ruiz Family as Carolline’s husband, wasn’t it?
