Chapter 371: Chapter 371: Reunion with Simon Carrington (8)
After suffering from injustice for five years, it ended just like that?
"Dad, this is a matter within our own family. Besides, Carolline was originally going to bring Bryan Cooper to the old mansion to apologize to you. It’s just a matter of time. Moreover, Simon Carrington also has important things to do, so let’s not delay him." Henry Ruiz came forward to persuade him, and the old man finally came to his senses, realizing that Simon Carrington’s matter was more important now.
"Let’s eat first then." The old master finally agreed.
Lunch was relatively peaceful, and the old master did not allow anyone to talk during the meal. Axel also knew this, so he followed the rule diligently.
The quiet lunch ended quickly. The main purpose of Simon Carrington’s visit was to see Henry Ruiz, as there was a matter he needed his help with. So, Carolline and Bryan Hawkins took Axel to play in the room, while Simon Carrington, Henry Ruiz, and the old master discussed matters in the living room.
Within Carolline’s room, Bryan Hawkins finally entered her boudoir openly. He admired it for a long time with unusual focus, and Carolline didn’t know what he was looking at.
"What could you possibly be looking at? It’s just a room. What’s so interesting?" Carolline sighed, rolling her eyes.
"It’s fascinating." If it weren’t for Axel being there, he would have undoubtedly held her in his arms.
Axel ignored them and went straight to the bookshelf next to Carolline, "Mom, I drew pictures this morning. Can I read comics this afternoon?"
"Sure, but no more than two." Carolline instructed.
"I know, I’ll go back to my room to read." Axel took the comics he wanted, and then left Carolline’s room directly.
As soon as Axel left, Carolline fell into the arms of the big bad wolf, "Is Simon Carrington here to see Dad, or is he here to see you through Dad?"
He still remembered the time when Simon Carrington had a crush on Carolline. At that time, the old master was trying his best to play matchmaker, and he had not forgotten about it.
"... Aren’t you too bored?" Carolline was speechless. She wasn’t a national beauty; did she really need to be remembered like this by every man who had ever had feelings for her?
Did the men who had had feelings for her before mean they shouldn’t get married and have children?
Look at what he was saying.
"Not at all bored, you don’t know how good you are and how much people think about you. I haven’t forgotten a single day in these five years." Bryan Hawkins said hoarsely, trying to kiss her.
"Don’t mess around, my grandfather is outside. If he finds out, we’ll be in real trouble." Carolline said seriously. Her grandfather was a very traditional old man. In front of him, even married couples or lovers were not supposed to hold hands, let alone their current situation. If they continued to show him sexually explicit images, it would only make her grandfather angrier.
"I thought you and Axel didn’t care about grandfather that much." Bryan Hawkins smiled, knowing that Carolline was a person who didn’t mean what she said.
"He’s my dad’s dad. Even if I don’t care about him, I have to care about my dad’s feelings." Carolline retorted.
"Alright, I know what kind of person you are. Don’t worry, I’ll definitely appease grandfather. I am ready to accept any punishment he has, as long as he’s appeased and happy." So, he was serious about what he had said earlier.
"Aren’t you going to work?" Carolline saw that he didn’t plan to leave and thought their lunch break couldn’t be that long.
"Go to work and give that guy named Simon Carrington a chance to be alone with you?" Bryan Hawkins raised his eyebrow. He wouldn’t do something so foolish.
"Not everyone is interested in your wife. He’s married with children, you know?" Carolline was on the verge of passing out.
"...Huh, you know his situation so well, come on, confess honestly. Have you had any contact with him over the years?" The more Carolline spoke, the more mistakes she made.
No matter what she said seemed to be wrong.
Or rather, this man was just overly fussy. If she told him about Simon Carrington’s situation, he would think they had been in contact, but if she didn’t say anything, he’d misunderstand that Simon Carrington was single and had bad intentions towards her.
How was she supposed to please him?
"There was contact, not just with him, but with many other men. Since you have so much free time, go and investigate them one by one." Carolline was really angry now, and only when she was angry did that smug person know what it meant to be restrained.
"Uh, okay, I was wrong. I won’t mess with you anymore." Seeing that Carolline was really angry, Bryan Hawkins hurriedly pulled her back. "Didn’t you want to find a lawyer for Daisy Willow? I think he’s a good candidate. Firstly, he’s from Kyoto with a well-known reputation. Secondly, I heard that his capabilities are definitely on par with William Hawkins."
"But isn’t it better to find a local lawyer? We don’t even know if he has the time to spare at all." Carolline had heard from Emily Hill that Simon Carrington was here to seek her father’s help for something. Since he was here to ask for her father’s help, it couldn’t be a good thing.
"It doesn’t hurt to ask." Bryan Hawkins suggested. The reason he suggested this was that he felt that the local lawyers would more or less consider Cole Duncan’s face and would not truly fight for Daisy Willow.
Since they were looking for a lawyer, they had to find one who didn’t need to consider Cole Duncan’s face and was wholeheartedly on Daisy Willow’s side.
"Okay, I’ll go ask him later." Carolline nodded.
Bryan Hawkins received a call from Xavier Estrada and had to leave quickly. Before leaving, he gave Carolline a lingering, passionate kiss.
Carolline left around two o’clock. After taking a nap in her room, she went to work. There was no one in the living room. Emily Hill was napping in her room, and Axel was reading comics in his room.
Before leaving, she went to Axel’s room and saw that he had fallen asleep while reading comics. She covered his stomach with a blanket and then left.
When she went upstairs to her office, she first went to the outpatient department to check her father’s office. Her grandfather was no longer there, and Simon Carrington was alone. Both of them seemed to be looking at someone’s photography, with serious expressions, and neither of them noticed her.
