Chapter 366: Chapter 366: Reunion with Gu Sheng (3)

Madelyn realized that she couldn’t convince William Hawkins to break his rule and handle a divorce case, and even if she could, she knew he had already refused to do so. She didn’t want to force him either.

"..." Carolline understood and decided not to insist. She would find a good lawyer later.

Moreover, William Hawkins had extensive connections, so he should know some lawyers skilled in dealing with these types of lawsuits. Anyway, they would still need his help in the end.

"Is Daisy Willow really getting a divorce?" Bryan Cooper could guess that Carolline was looking for a good lawyer to help her friend.

"Yeah, she really needs to reflect on her life. You don’t know what her awful mother-in-law said about her. If I had such a mother-in-law, I would have kicked them out long ago, not wasting my time serving them," Carolline said indignantly.

"Cole Duncan was raised by his single mother, and men like him who succeed later in life tend to feel guilty towards their mothers. They naturally tolerate their mothers’ unreasonable behavior, which is a way of psychological redemption. Unfortunately, their wives suffer," Bryan explained, using some principles from psychology.

"I never thought that someone as business-minded as Mr. Hawkins would understand psychology," Carolline commented neutrally.

She believed that Bryan was trying to vindicate the Duncans. Carolline was very direct and didn’t mind acknowledging Duncan’s hardships being raised by his mother. But, as a mother herself, she thought she should endure any difficulties for her child. What does all of this have to do with Daisy Willow and their daughter, Elena?

Just because Elena wasn’t the male inheritor the Duncan family wanted, should they treat their own granddaughter unfairly?

"You need to understand psychology to negotiate in business," Bryan said. He pulled Carolline onto his lap. She tried to struggle, but he wrapped his arm around her waist and said, "I’m not against you. I’m just analyzing the kind of man Cole Duncan is for you. If Daisy had understood him before marrying him, she wouldn’t have made that foolish decision. Being married to someone like that is worse than being alone."

"...So, you’re supporting her getting a divorce, too?" Only then did Carolline smile happily. If she had to endure such a husband and mother-in-law, wouldn’t it be better to just get a divorce?

Bryan looked at Carolline’s smile, pinched her nose, and said, "Don’t worry too much about other people’s affairs. I get jealous of both men and women, you know."

"You jealous little ghost," Carolline said. She held his face and gave him a quick peck on the lips. Bryan laughed heartily and pulled her in for a deeper kiss.

"Mmm mmm mmm..." Carolline tried to push him away, knowing that anyone could walk into the living room at any moment, especially their kids. It wouldn’t be good for them to see this.

Bryan, understanding the situation, didn’t persist and let her go back to sitting on the couch. Carolline, however, was already slightly out of breath from just a short kiss.

Could it be her stamina wasn’t that great?

It was just a kiss and she was already panting. She shouldn’t be this tired, even after all those days when she was forced to jog every day.

Carolline frowned, staring resentfully at the still-smiling Bryan.
