Chapter 364: Chapter 364: Reunion with Gu Sheng (1)

By the time they finally returned to the Ruiz Family’s home after leisurely spending time at the Hawkins Family’s place, it was already nine o’clock at night.

Elena Duncan was sitting in the living room, yawning and waiting for Axel. When she heard that Axel had come back, she was overjoyed. Axel felt the same way. Even though he was reluctant to part with his great-grandmother, grandparents who treated him so well, he still missed Elena. He had bought her a beautiful sun hat and thought he would have to wait until school started to give it to her. But, to his delight, Elena was visiting her maternal grandparents.

So, no matter how much Axel’s great-grandmother and the others tried to keep him, he insisted on going back to his maternal grandparents’ house. Once the old lady learned about the real reason, she asked Carolline Ruiz if Elena could come to their house to play, saying that there is plenty of room for her to stay.

Carolline couldn’t refuse her grandmother’s enthusiasm, so she agreed.

However, she felt that it was unrealistic to let Elena stay at the Hawkins Family’s home.

Axel had already brought back gifts for his maternal grandparents, and he had taken many photos. Bryan Cooper had taken the photos to a Photography Studio and made two thick photo albums. The gifts Axel chose were not as popular as the photo albums.

Axel wasn’t disappointed; Elena loved the hat he chose for her. The two children got along and played together happily.

Daisy Willow came over at nine-thirty. Seeing that Carolline and her family had returned, and that Elena was playing happily with Axel, she felt relieved.

When Carolline saw Daisy out, Daisy couldn’t help but thank her repeatedly, "Carolline, Cole will be discharged from the hospital tomorrow. I’ve been troubling you these days, I don’t have anything to give you. This is just a little token of my gratitude. Please don’t mind."

"What are you saying? We are friends now, and friends don’t need to do this. You should think clearly about yourself and Elena. Don’t always compromise and give in. That won’t bring you the happiness and things you want, understand?" Carolline advised.

"Yes, I understand." Daisy Willow lowered her head.

In fact, after Carolline stopped intervening, Daisy had suffered a lot of grievances during these days, but she had chosen to endure them. Jane Auclair from downstairs could get out of bed now and would come to see Cole Duncan in a wheelchair every day. Whenever this happened, she, being the legal wife, would be driven out by her mother-in-law. That’s why she spent more time with Elena.

She didn’t tell Carolline about this as it would only trouble her. Whether Carolline was being punished by the leader for standing up for her and thus not coming to their ward, she didn’t know and was too embarrassed to ask.

Moreover, she was happy to spend more time with Elena.

"That’s good. Now, keep this money. You will need it in the future." Carolline warned her once again.

"Thank you, Carolline." Daisy was extremely grateful.

"So, are you and Elena going back to the Duncan Family tomorrow?" Carolline shook her head, indicating that Daisy didn’t need to be so polite.

"Yes, we will go back to the Duncan Family first. There are some things that need to be resolved first. I will probably need your help then." At this moment, Daisy had made up her mind.

She decided to divorce and do her best to keep Elena by her side. Cole Duncan was now incapable of taking care of Elena, and Mrs. Duncan didn’t like Elena. She couldn’t leave her daughter in the care of a grandmother who didn’t love her.

"Alright, it’s not a bother. Just be firm in your decision," Carolline nodded. People always say that one shouldn’t disrupt a marriage, but she genuinely believed that if Daisy didn’t break up this marriage, neither she nor Elena would find happiness.
