"..." Looking at Little Elena’s tearful and helpless appearance, Carolline felt heartbroken. It was easy to imagine the life of this mother and daughter duo at the Duncan Family, how they were bullied by Mrs. Duncan. She wondered if Cole knew about the grievances his wife and daughter suffered.

"Don’t cry anymore, Little Elena. Auntie promises you that I will do my best to make sure you’ll never be separated from your mother for the rest of your life, okay?" Carolline knew that William Hawkins was very good at handling lawsuits. In recent years, she had not been in contact with the Hawkins Family, but she knew about their affairs from television or other platforms.

After learning about William Hawkins’ previous marital status, Carolline wanted to have a good discussion with Bryan and Axel about this matter after they returned from their trip. If Daisy Willow was alone, she would not be able to resist Cole and his mother.

"Thank you, Auntie." Little Elena finally managed to smile through her tears.

"Little Elena, eat more. Auntie likes plump Little Elena, which is cute and beautiful." Carolline tried to persuade her. How could the little girl survive with the little food she had eaten after being hungry for so long?

Little Elena shook her head, "Auntie, I won’t eat anymore. Let’s pack it up. I want to go to the ward and eat with my mom."

"Little Elena, you are so well-behaved." Carolline saw how sensible Little Elena was, just like Axel in the past, and felt a sour pain in her heart. It was said that children who were too sensible had heart-wrenching stories behind them, and it was indeed true.

Axel now was getting more and more willful and naughty. Everyone said he was becoming more like a child, while in the past, Axel was very serious, like a little adult.

Carolline packed up two bowls of porridge and ordered one serving of each delicious snack in the store. Then she brought them to the ward, where only Daisy Willow was present. Mrs. Duncan, the butler, and the caretaker were not there.

"Mom, Auntie brought you some food. Eat quickly." Little Elena spoke softly and sweetly to Daisy Willow. Then she took short steps towards Cole’s bedside, "Dad, let mom eat something, okay?"

"... Okay." Cole was almost moved to tears. Did his daughter think that he was the one stopping her mother from eating?

"Thank you, Dad. Mom, eat quickly, or Grandma will come back later and you won’t be able to eat again." Little Elena’s words were very direct, and she was very afraid of her grandmother. Cole was instantly taken aback.

Carolline glanced at Cole. She really wanted to see how this man, as a father, husband, and son, would react to seeing his own daughter so fearful of her grandmother.

"Let’s see when the time comes." Daisy Willow drank the porridge and ate the steamed buns, genuinely hungry.

Carolline did not stay long and turned to leave.

Carolline returned to the Resting Room, and Bryan Hawkins called. He was at home and had just put the excited Axel to sleep. Then he went back to their room, the feeling of being alone in bed made him uncomfortable. He thought about it and decided to call Carolline.

"Hello, you haven’t slept yet? What time is your flight tomorrow?" Carolline’s mood improved considerably upon seeing Bryan Hawkins’ incoming call. They were going to be apart for another week.
