Chapter 306: Chapter 306: His Threat (4)
"No need, I’m really fine. You guys better go back. Now that you’re finally remarried, you should focus on cultivating your relationship. Bryan, Carolline loves you, so I won’t hold our past against you anymore. Just treat her well from now on, and don’t be fickle." Celia looked at Bryan Hawkins. In the past, she definitely would not have forgiven him so easily, but now she felt that it was good enough for two people in love to be together, especially since Carolline really liked him.
"Yeah, don’t worry. You take care too." Bryan Hawkins looked at her and felt that she had grown a lot. His previous impression of her was that she was a carefree princess.
He thought of how this little princess had been living so happily and comfortably under the protection of her parents and her Big Brother. He never expected that Celia, as a woman, would be so fearless and wholehearted in pursuit of love.
Over the years, she had truly endured a lot. He admired her, but he could also understand that Jordy Wade had not had it easy. Otherwise, he would not have abandoned Celia for so many years without a care.
Sometimes, men are not omnipotent. At certain times, the choices they make are what they feel is most important at the moment, and they tend to think more long-term than women.
He felt that Celia was someone he could cherish and take care of for a lifetime. Since she loved him, he believed that she must think the same way. Since they both planned to be together for a lifetime, he should take on the responsibilities he ought to shoulder, as well as those Celia had to bear.
By the time those responsibilities gradually faded away, there would be no regrets or complaints when they were together, just happiness.
"Thank you, I will. All these years, I’ve grown accustomed to taking care of myself. Don’t worry, I’m fine. Thank you for bringing Carolline to see me. Please take her back with you. I’ll treat you guys to dinner another day." Celia said with a smile, her lips twisted into a grin.
"Alright, you look so ugly when you smile, especially after getting drunk." Carolline couldn’t help but feel choked up, wanting to tell Celia about meeting Jordy Wade downstairs, but Bryan Hawkins stopped her.
Carolline knew that Jordy choosing to leave before Celia woke up meant he didn’t want Celia to know that he had come to G City.
Carolline didn’t know what Jordy was thinking, but at present, Celia indeed could not handle any more stress. Jordy had come to her city but deliberately avoided her, which must have been a huge blow to Celia.
Bryan and Carolline left Celia’s house, with Carolline feeling low and experiencing unbearable abdominal pain. Seeing her frown, Bryan hurriedly hugged her, "What’s wrong? Where do you feel uncomfortable?"
"My stomach hurts, but it’s okay, it’s always like this when I’m on my period." Carolline shook her head. Her menstruation was weird; unlike others who suffered pain before it arrived or throughout the period, she only experienced pain on the first and last days.
"Let’s go, we’ll go to the car first." Bryan was helpless since he couldn’t do anything about this. Once they got in the car, he reached over and gently massaged her stomach. "Has it always been like this since your first time, or did it start after you gave birth to Axel?"
"I think it’s always been like this." Carolline wasn’t sure as she’d always been careless about her own health. When she was younger, Emily Hill would make her something to eat during those days each month, so she didn’t think much of it.
As for exactly what Emily cooked, all Carolline knew was that she ate it without ever inquiring further.
