Despite knowing that he had been a model of restraint for the past five years, with female celebrities and wealthy daughters actively pursuing him, Bryan Hawkins remained as steadfast and unshakeable as an iceberg. However, his actions just now made it impossible to imagine him as a chaste idol.

At this moment, Carolline Ruiz’s heart was still pounding rapidly.

Compared to the intimacy they had shared in the past, today’s contact was hardly worth mentioning, yet it still made Carolline feel as if her heart was galloping like a deer in her chest. She really hated her lack of resolve; it wasn’t even a real kiss, just pressed close together.

"..." Bryan suddenly moved towards her, and in that moment, Carolline wanted to turn and run away, but she was worried that he would chase after her, leaving her to become the laughingstock of everyone. "Try saying what you just said again."

"What?" Carolline asked blankly, and after seeing Bryan smile and repeat the question, she glared at him angrily, "You shameless jerk!"

Carolline never thought that she would be using such words to describe him in a moment of impulse.

"Hmm, let me show you what being shameless really means." Bryan finished speaking and walked out first, waiting for her at the door, "Let’s go, head nurse Carolline. Your humble servant awaits your instructions."

"What the heck are you trying to do?" Carolline yelled in a low voice. She was at work, and it was absurd for him to follow her around like this.

"Isn’t it necessary to explain to your colleagues? Clear things up?" Bryan smiled as he asked, then walked away without giving her a hard time. He went straight towards the elevator exit and pressed the button for the elevator.

Carolline was confused, but as soon as she saw him leave, she finally breathed a sigh of relief. She straightened her wrinkled clothes, which had been messed up from her earlier struggle, and then went out to carry on with her rounds.

First, she went to the Surgical Nurse Station, which was her old stomping ground when she first joined the hospital. Aurora Bailey was here as well, and only they dared to be so bold. Before Carolline could even approach, she could hear a few nurses chattering away.

Aurora recounted what she had found out in the office earlier, using her own words. At this moment, she was sitting in the corner, her face filled with disbelief. She clearly said that the two were just pressed close together - she couldn’t even tell if their faces were touching because she dared not look.

But why was it that they were now discussing things like French kisses as if they had experienced it themselves and not her?

Listening to their nonsense, Carolline couldn’t help but feel her face heating up and her heart racing. Hearing such nonsense during work hours was infuriating.

"What on earth are you talking about?" Carolline took a deep breath and walked out, and everyone fell silent at her appearance.

"Head nurse, I didn’t say that. It was all them..." Aurora quickly stood up to explain. She really hadn’t said those things, but she had no idea how it had turned into this big gossip.

"This is work hours." Carolline glanced at Aurora, knowing that she wouldn’t have said those things. She understood all of these people, "It’s not what you think. Don’t spread it anymore."

"Oh." Everyone agreed in unison, knowing that Carolline wouldn’t really be angry.

"Ladies in white, it’s time for afternoon tea." The elevator dinged once more, and as the doors opened, Bryan Hawkins appeared, holding two bags filled with milk tea and snacks. He placed them generously on the nurse’s office desk.

"..." Carolline’s eyes widened in disbelief. How had this shameless man not left yet?

What’s worse, was he here to undermine her? She had just told everyone to be diligent during work hours, and here he was bringing afternoon tea.

The nurses swarmed forward to get their afternoon tea, completely ignoring Carolline.
