"I’m sorry, I...I didn’t mean to." The young nurse was still scared, because she was sent here to snoop on things. Back outside, her colleagues were very curious as to why Bryan Hawkins had been here for so long.

Opening the door resulted to this embarrassing scene. The young nurse had never been in a relationship, so seeing people being affectionate was really awkward for her.

The two quickly separated. It was mainly because Carolline Ruiz pushed Bryan Hawkins away. She glared at Bryan with a flushed face and then looked at the young nurse at the door, saying "Speak up if there’s anything."

Bryan Hawkins appeared to be quite fine. There was a bit of awkwardness, but it wasn’t so embarrassing that he could not face people. While the two were talking, he calmly poured water for Carolline and sent it over to her.

Seeing this, the young nurse was astonished. The supreme Bryan Hawkins was serving tea and water to the head nurse? What exactly was the relationship between these two?

Carolline Ruiz glared at Bryan Hawkins, but he acted as if nothing had happened. He turned around, poured himself a glass of water, then sat down on the nearby sofa and started reading the newspaper.

"Did you come to see me or someone else?" Carolline Ruiz noticed the young nurse was staring at Bryan Hawkins and felt somewhat annoyed by it, which was also reflected in her tone.

"Well, Head nurse, it’s nothing serious. It’s my birthday today, and everyone wants to celebrate it together. That’s why I came to invite you." The young nurse lowered her head and said. Today was not her actual birthday, it’s just an excuse used to spy on the situation. Anyway, the meal was going dutch, Carolline’s part was shared evenly among a few nurses.

Bryan Hawkins was pretending to read the newspaper but was actually listening to their conversation. Hearing this, he felt a hint of disingenuity from the young nurse.

"Are you sure it’s your birthday today?" Carolline had gone through the files of all the nurses. Even if she couldn’t remember all the details, she remembered their birthdays.

She always arranged for them to take a day off on their birthday, which was one of her ways of being personable. The birthday of this young nurse, known as Aurora Bailey, was in July, but now it’s only the end of May.

Even if she wanted to celebrate her birthday in advance, it was way too early.

"..." Aurora Bailey didn’t respond. She was guilty and now that she was exposed, she didn’t know what to say.

Carolline sighed and understood. Bryan Hawkins, being such a high-profile person, had definitely been spotted when he dashed into her office, and the news would have spread rapidly.

Who can blame him when he’s so popular now?

"Fine, you can go now. Tell them to focus on their work and not let their imagination affect their work. Otherwise, it’s not good if their bonus gets deducted. Go on." Carolline said to Aurora Bailey.

Aurora Bailey finally breathed a sigh of relief, she patted her chest and then fled from Carolline’s office like she was escaping.

Carolline tidied up her desk; she was no longer in the mood to arrange the attendance for next month. She first gave a glare to the culprit sitting across from her. If it wasn’t for Aurora Bailey’s sudden intrusion, she might have slapped him, but most likely, she would’ve not done anything at all.

She didn’t want to drink the water he poured that was sitting on the table, so she got up.

"Where are you going? You haven’t finished your water yet." Bryan Hawkins also stood up and asked anxiously.

"I’m going out for a round of supervision. Either you stay here nicely, or you go back to your place. Of course, if you took an interest in the young nurses, you could pursue that too. This year, we’ve hired a lot of young and beautiful nurses." Carolline deliberately said this, mocking him on purpose.
