Carolline wanted to say something but was interrupted by Henry Ruiz.

“That’s fine, Mr. Hawkins, just leave her here. Thanks for your help today, but please don’t come looking for Carolline at our house too often in the future,” said Emily Hill to Bryan, who then closed the door immediately.

Bryan watched the closed door, recalling Emily’s completely different attitude toward him just two days ago. He felt responsible for Carolline’s suffering and believed that no matter how much he did or how many cold shoulders he got, it was all deserved.

In the end, Bryan left Carolline’s house. Before leaving, he sent her a text message telling her to take care of herself, and that he would come back to see her when he had the time, and not to have any conflicts with Emily.

Carolline went back to her room and lay down. The bandage around her neck hadn’t been removed yet, and Henry had asked for a week off for her.

Andy Aguirre and Megan Clifton rushed straight to the Ruiz family’s home after hearing about Carolline’s accident. Megan, who always spoke casually, said to Carolline, “How did you end up like this?” She truly felt sorry for Carolline, so her words simply slipped out of her mouth.

“What kind of language is that? How can you say that when she’s like this?” Andy was displeased. He had always protected Carolline as his little sister, so he couldn’t tolerate Megan bullying her.

“What’s wrong with what I said?” Megan immediately wanted to argue with Andy about it.

“Hey, hey, hey! I’m the patient here, can you two at least calm down a bit at this time?” Carolline couldn’t stand listening to their arguments anymore. Before it didn’t matter, but now that she’s in this state, couldn’t they just let her have a quiet moment?

Besides, couldn’t they tell that her mood was really bad right now?

Ever since Emily had barred Bryan from entering the house, Carolline had wanted to talk to her, but never got the chance. People kept coming to visit her at home, making it impossible for her to have a private conversation with Emily.

“You should go home now, it’s so late already,” Andy restrained his temper and said to Megan. When they arrived, it was already 7 o’clock. They had some dinner at the Ruiz family’s home, and now it was 9:30pm. In his opinion, it was time for Megan to go home.

“Alright, Carolline, you rest well. I’ll go home now, and I’ll come and see you again tomorrow.” Megan checked the time and knew that it was late. She had called her family, but her phone still vibrated several times.

But, she just didn’t answer it.

“No need, tomorrow is New Year’s Eve, you should just stay home and celebrate with your family,” Carolline shook her head and refused. Tomorrow was New Year’s Eve, and all the families would be celebrating together.

Thinking about New Year’s Eve made Carolline feel uncomfortable. Every year, they would go back to the Ruiz family’s mansion for the holiday, but she was unsure how her grandfather would react to her current condition.

She really didn’t want to go, but since her neck was injured and not her legs, it didn’t seem right not to go.

“Exactly,” Andy agreed wholeheartedly. He planned to accompany Carolline tomorrow, and he didn’t want to see any unrelated people around.

“How much do you hate me, senior Andy?” Megan naturally heard the meaning behind Andy’s words, and her eyes seemed to be spitting fire as she stared at him.

Fortunately, after this New Year’s holiday, she would only have half a year left, and then she wouldn’t have to follow this arrogant guy any longer, lest she be pissed off half to death.
