Chapter 1153: 014 Stella Carrington’s Provocation_3
Later, when he had grown up, he changed the gaming room back into a bedroom. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have been able to clear it out in just one day before their arrival tomorrow.
"That’s your sister," Elena Duncan reminded her with a sense of helplessness.
"Is it?" Liam Carrington merely asked lightly, and then fell silent.
"..." Elena Duncan suddenly found herself at a loss for words. Every time she mentioned his sister, Liam Carrington would respond this way. Several times, she wondered if Liam Carrington knew something, but that matter was evidently only overheard by her. At that time, she felt Liam Carrington shouldn’t have heard anything.
Even if he had heard something, he was so young; he shouldn’t have understood.
It was later that Elena Duncan gradually understood that Liam Carrington’s way of questioning actually just reflected his feeling that Stella Carrington didn’t quite seem like a sister to him since she never took the initiative to call and wish him happy birthday each year.
In the past, it was always Simon Carrington, Daisy Willow, and herself who stayed by Liam Carrington’s side on his birthdays. She didn’t know whether Liam Carrington had any expectations of Stella Carrington. On Liam Carrington’s tenth birthday, she had called Stella Carrington, asking her to wish Liam Carrington a happy birthday, but Stella Carrington refused.
More than that, Stella Carrington told her it was none of her business. After that, she stopped calling Stella Carrington. What was most striking was that, after she hung up the phone, she saw Liam Carrington standing at the door of her room with a look of sorrow on his face.
Afterwards, Liam Carrington simply stopped mentioning Stella Carrington altogether.
"I will stay in Mom and Dad’s master bedroom," Liam Carrington told the butler, deciding on the spot.
The next evening, Evelyn Willow and Stella Carrington indeed arrived, and Elena Duncan and Axel Hawkins went to pick them up at the airport, having asked Liam Carrington to join, but he had gone out to play soccer early in the morning.
Elena Duncan felt somewhat helpless—this first day was already so tense, how would they get through each following day? She was truly worried.
"All right, don’t worry. You know with Kent around, our future days won’t be too hard," Axel Hawkins comforted her, knowing what she was concerned about.
"That’s true, Kent is really a treasure," Elena Duncan agreed, nodding. With Axel Hawkins’s comforting words, she felt much more at ease.
When the two arrived at the airport, Evelyn Willow and Stella Carrington had already been waiting for a while. Seeing them approach, Stella Carrington passed her luggage to Kent Auclair and strode towards them.
Kent Auclair, witnessing Stella Carrington simply offloading her burden, didn’t bother with her belongings and pushed his own luggage as he headed toward his sister.
Stella Carrington went straight to Axel Hawkins, while Kent Auclair approached Elena Duncan with concern, saying, "Elena, you seem to have lost weight again. Every time I see you, you look thinner. What’s going on? Are you not eating well?"
"I am, but just can’t seem to gain weight," Elena Duncan said with a smile, knowing her family would always be concerned about her health whenever they met.
"Really? Then you have the kind of figure models would envy," Kent Auclair said as he patted her head.
Axel Hawkins didn’t get jealous. Stella Carrington clung to Axel Hawkins, bombarding him with questions about why he didn’t let them know when he came to M Country, as if they were really close.
"Whose luggage is this?" At that moment, a security guard at the airport asked over a loudspeaker, addressing the passengers who had just arrived.
It was only then that Stella Carrington realized that only Kent Auclair’s luggage was on his cart, while hers had been left inside and not brought out.
Stella Carrington frowned and glared at Kent Auclair, "Kent Auclair, are you even a man? Couldn’t you help me with my luggage?"
"Oh, did you ask me to help? I thought the lady here was planning to buy anything she needed anew," Kent Auclair asked facetiously.
Angry to death, Stella Carrington had no choice but to go back and wheel out her own luggage.
"You," Elena Duncan said with a disapproving shake of her head. Kent Auclair seemed intent on infuriating someone to death.
"Why should I? She’s been acting high and mighty all the way here. I’m not her slave," Kent Auclair replied nonchalantly. These past days, he really felt like he was going to be angered to death by her. Letting her fend for herself for a bit was quite alright; otherwise, she really might think he was a total pushover.
"Let’s go," said Axel Hawkins to the others as Stella Carrington approached with her luggage; neither Kent Auclair nor Axel Hawkins offered to help, and Axel Hawkins simply spoke up.
