Chapter 1141: I’ve told you I have a boyfriend.

Elena Duncan received her report card with excellent results, securing the second rank in her Business and Trade Major.

As she hadn’t expected such a performance, she agreed to join her classmates for a movie at the department when they invited her, thinking she could call Axel later that evening to inform him about her grades.

Additionally, she needed to book a flight ticket once she got home; in four days, it would be Axel’s birthday. They had a pact that they would be together for their eighteenth birthdays.

Thinking about her plans, she was delighted by the thought that Axel would join her here once she returned, and from then on, they never had to be apart again, no longer needing to rely on daily video calls to express their longing for each other.

Both were quite rational people, but they were also rich in emotions. She missed Axel dearly, especially with the anticipation of seeing him soon, which made her miss him even more.

Throughout the movie, she hardly paid attention, her heart and mind filled with thoughts of Axel Hawkins.

It wasn’t until her phone rang that she snapped out of her thoughts, pulled back into reality by a call from Liam Carrington. That kid must have gotten home, didn’t see her, and had come out looking for her.

"Hello, Liam Carrington," Elena whispered as she answered the phone, trying not to disturb others in the cinema.

"Sis, where are you? I’m at your school," Liam Carrington, still as clingy as when he was little, and only Elena didn’t mind it.

Liam Carrington was already sixteen, standing a tall six feet next to Elena, presenting the very image of a flower protector, his presence sparing her many troubles.

"Really? I’ll come out and meet you then. I’ll treat you to something nice today. I’ll hang up now," Elena stood up, leaving through the back door without finishing the movie.

As she left, a boy sitting behind her also followed her out.

His name was Charles Morrison, a classmate from Elena’s high school who had liked her for a long time and had even confessed his feelings, but since Liam Carrington was always around, and Elena had mentioned she had a boyfriend, he hadn’t pursued her further.

However, he increasingly felt that Liam Carrington couldn’t possibly be Elena’s boyfriend, as their interaction did not seem typical of a couple.

Even if they hugged in public, Liam Carrington’s voice was still high-pitched and unbroken, and besides, Elena never blushed in front of him—quite unnatural for a girl around a boy she was supposed to like.

Thus, he hadn’t given up pursuing Elena. Today, finally hearing Elena call Liam Carrington "brother" clarified their relationship for him.

Charles made a quick call to a friend, asking him to rush to the flower shop and order a bouquet of roses for a confession. He decided that today he would confess his feelings to Elena again, and this time, he wouldn’t give her a chance to reject him.

Elena, unaware she was being followed by Charles, arrived at the school gates and saw Liam Carrington standing there, looking adorably obedient; she couldn’t help but smile slightly.

"Liam Carrington—"

"Elena Duncan—"

As Elena called out to Liam Carrington, Charles also called her name.

Both Liam Carrington and Elena turned around and saw Charles approaching them with a smile. Liam Carrington immediately stepped in front of Elena, "Who are you, and what do you want?"

"Well, nice, I know you’re Elena’s brother. Your sister ranked second, so let me take you both out for a meal to celebrate, okay?" Charles said, amused by Liam Carrington’s protective stance. They were siblings; surely the brother couldn’t monopolize his sister forever, could he?

"No need, we can afford our own meals," Liam Carrington declined outright.

Elena didn’t intervene; she didn’t know what Charles truly intended. She had already rejected him several times, yet he persistently bothered her. Others had confessed to her before, but upon being rejected once, they would conscientiously stop pursuing her.

"..." Charles considered Liam Carrington just a naive little kid and ignored him, continuing to speak directly to Elena, "Elena, I know he’s your brother, not your boyfriend. Please give me a chance, will you?"
