Time passed swiftly, and before anyone realized it, Axel turned eighteen. He completed the national college entrance exam, but he didn’t fill out any college application preferences.

As Bryan put it, he just wanted his son to experience the atmosphere of the exam. It didn’t matter whether Axel did well or not, the experience was all that counted.

Bryan had already found a university for Axel in M Country, where he was to study. Since their family managed a company, and as Axel was the eldest son of the Hawkins Family, it was only natural for him to bear the burden of the family business.

The educational institutions in their country could meet his requirements, some certainly could, but Axel had a promise with Elena, so as a father, Bryan naturally wanted to fulfill the promise he made to his son.

Simon and Daisy returned to Kyoto only last year, and ultimately, he moved the headquarters of the Carrington Family company to Kyoto, also bringing Daisy’s parents and her big brother back to the city.

In Kyoto, Simon helped Samuel set up a large supermarket. Within a year, they established branches, and it became a chain of supermarkets.

The family’s life could certainly be considered happy and harmonious.

This past year, Elena and Liam remained in M Country and did not return. Stella also planned to go abroad with Axel after finishing her college entrance exam.

Throughout the years, she lived in her home country, with Violet by her side. When she was twelve, she began calling Violet ’Mother.’ That year, she fell ill with a fever and longed deeply for her parents, but they did not come.

She did not wait for Fiona or Simon, it was only Violet who stayed by her side. Later, when the fever subsided and she came back to her senses, she called Violet ’Mother’ for the first time.

Violet was deeply moved at that moment; she felt that Stella was still a good child.

Later, with Simon’s consent, Violet and Stella began to refer to each other as mother and daughter.

For this, Daisy did not feel jealous. She was touched that Stella could be moved by Violet, and to her, it was enough that the child had a kind and beautiful soul.

Axel and Kent were good friends of Stella’s. Over the years, due to Elena’s reminders, the two boys took good care of Stella. Kent knew that Stella liked Axel, and he himself was secretly in love with Stella.

However, the emotional tangle between them was truly too complex. He always knew that Axel’s affection was reserved for Elena. Initially, he simply thought the two shared a close friendship, but as they entered adolescence and Axel rejected all the advances from other girls, he realized that Elena had long secured her place in Axel’s heart. Nobody else would ever enter there again.

Stella also knew of Axel’s affection for Elena. It was precisely because she knew, that she was determined to snatch Axel away to be her boyfriend. Of course, she liked Axel, but liking someone wasn’t enough reason alone to make him her boyfriend. However, the possibility that he might be with Elena was unacceptable to her.

Stella was aware of Evelyn’s feelings for her, so she frequently used Evelyn, having him drop hints for her, even going as far as indicating her own interest directly, yet Axel remained indifferent.

They were all aware of the promise made by Axel and Elena for their eighteenth birthdays.

As the time for this promised birthday approached, Stella grew more anxious. With Elena away from Axel’s side, he was entirely consumed with thoughts of her. What chance would she have once Elena was actually by his side?

Stella’s eighteenth birthday was the first to arrive. Axel and Kent would both attend because Axel had promised Elena to take good care of Stella.

Kent used to be chubby, and although he was no longer as fat as he once was, he still appeared rather chunky in front of Axel.

Kent followed Axel around; one was the greenery supporting the other, the blooming flower.

Kent initially scoffed at the idea of following Axel, but Axel’s personal charm was too irresistible. It wasn’t just Stella who was captivated; even he, Kent, willingly stayed by Axel’s side, silently accentuating his princely demeanor.

The day before her birthday celebration, Stella asked Kent to meet with her alone, treating him to a lavish steak dinner.

Kent was somewhat flattered. After the exams, he returned to G City from Kyoto, claiming he wanted to catch up with old friends. Stella also decided to attend middle school and high school in G City, simply because she wanted to spend more time with Axel.
