Chapter 1131: 010 Chengcheng Arrives (Boss Li)_3

"Anyway, I seldom go out anymore."

The frequency of prenatal check-ups increased in the latter stage to once a week, and it was always a family affair. Each visit made Carolline Ruiz feel as if she wasn’t going for a check-up but rather to deliver a baby.

Actually, Emily Hill and Henry Ruiz had previously accompanied her during Axel’s birth. They should not have been so nervous, but seeing their son-in-law and that side of the family so tense, Carolline’s parents felt it wouldn’t be right for them to appear too relaxed.

Ultimately, Bryan Hawkins was thrilled, watching the due date approach, his little princess was about to be born, and he was overjoyed.

He spent a long time coming up with three names for the little princess: Grace Hawkins, Katherine Hawkins, Elizabeth Hawkins—each one filled with a father’s hopes and adoration, wishing her life and growth to be joyful and happy.

However, Carolline Ruiz hadn’t told him that the baby in her belly was actually a son, not a daughter, so those three names would likely be unused.

She did try to tell him that the second child in her belly was also a son, but Bryan Hawkins never gave her a chance to say it.

The maternity bag at home, aside from her own things, was filled entirely with items for a baby girl. Fortunately, she had discussed it with Emily Hill beforehand, and Emily Hill was preparing things for a baby boy, as was her mother-in-law, Sophia Lawson.

Sophia Lawson had prepared the things for the baby boy right in front of Bryan Hawkins, who disdainfully told his mother, "No need to prepare for a son. The child in Carolline’s belly is definitely a girl."

Sophia Lawson looked at her son with even more disdain, "Who has experience, you or me? I gave birth to two sons, and I can tell from looking at Carolline’s belly that she’s carrying a grandson."

"..." Bryan Hawkins’s face darkened at that moment, and he fell silent.

Afterwards, he continued to prepare things for the daughter, deluding himself and treating the baby in the belly as a princess, even personally preparing a beautiful room for the baby.

In Carolline Ruiz’s view, she also wished the baby in her belly was a daughter, to fulfill Bryan Hawkins’s wish, but whether it was a boy or a girl wasn’t for them to decide.

Carolline Ruiz also prepared a name for the son—Brandon Hawkins, nicknamed Brandon Cooper, symbolizing a mother’s hope that her child would grow up to be honest and trustworthy.

The day it started, Carolline Ruiz woke up feeling very uncomfortable and irritable. After breakfast, Bryan Hawkins, as always, wanted to accompany her for a walk outside, but she did not want to go, and for the first time, she rejected Bryan Hawkins.

Sitting on the sofa in the living room watching TV also felt discomforting. She got up, pacing back and forth in the room, not understanding what was happening, but feeling uncomfortable everywhere.

"What’s wrong?" Bryan Hawkins also noticed Carolline Ruiz’s unusual behavior and walked over to ask her with concern.

"I want to take a shower," Carolline Ruiz replied, then headed upstairs. Just as she made her way up the stairs, she felt her stomach tighten suddenly. Carolline paused, then steadied herself on the railing and made it to the second floor.

Back in the room, she quickly found some clothes and went straight to the bathroom to shower, moving so fast that Bryan Hawkins, who had gone to the kitchen to make her a cup of milk, missed catching up with her.

Bryan Hawkins had no choice but to leave the milk outside. Soon after, she started having some labor pains. Carolline Ruiz bore the pain and finished her shower, standing still and patiently waiting for the pain to pass during intervals, and quickly showering when it wasn’t hurting.

She came out in just ten minutes and had Bryan Hawkins help her blow-dry her hair. Just as it was almost dry, the pain hit again. Carolline Ruiz gritted her teeth and endured it until Bryan Hawkins had dried her hair, after which she had him tie it up with a rubber band.

Only then did she say to Bryan Hawkins, "Honey, take me to the hospital, I think I am going to give birth."

The last time Axel was born, for various reasons, it was a cesarean section. Over the years, her scar had healed well, and during several check-ups, the doctor had said her physical condition was still suitable for a natural childbirth.

Carolline Ruiz wanted to experience natural childbirth herself, but of course, she had no preference for how the child chose to be born.

Upon hearing Carolline Ruiz’s words, Bryan Hawkins instantly turned pale, then, without bothering to let Carolline Ruiz drink the milk, he dashed off, swinging the door open and shouting downstairs, "Dad, dad, mom, mom, hurry, get things ready, Carolline is going to give birth, the baby is coming out."
