Chapter 1118: 008 A new beginning, another storm
Simon’s and Daisy Willow’s wedding was set in early August, leaving only a month from their return to the wedding day.
They took some wedding photos briefly, and Bryan Hawkins was fully in charge of the hotel; they only needed to take care of the invitations and buy some wedding candies. They did not even put much effort into decorating the bridal room, temporarily using the room Simon had bought here as the bridal room.
The pre-wedding preparations were rather simple, but the ceremony was still grand.
Simon personally went to Daisy’s old house to invite the Willow family relatives and even arranged several luxury buses to bring them to G City.
His parents arranged a charter flight for the Carrington family’s relatives to come to G City for the wedding.
Simon’s parents said they would arrive in G City two days in advance; their attitude finally reassured Daisy’s parents to entrust her to Simon.
The wedding was quite traditional and simple, carried out according to the Wedding Planning Company’s arrangements, making it a public yet grand ceremony.
"Stella, are you really okay with them making such a showy entrance into your home and taking over your dad?" Heidi Carrington, Stella’s cousin, softly asked in her ear.
She was five years older than Stella, and among the Carringtons, Stella’s relationship with her was the best. This girl was very cunning.
At that time, her father was unhappy that the great-grandfather had handed the company over to his youngest uncle, Simon, so Heidi got along very well with Stella, purely to probe for news about Simon.
Additionally, Simon’s divorce from Irene Houston was because of Daisy Willow, and it was she who spread rumors making Stella believe that it was Daisy and Elena’s presence that caused her parents’ divorce.
In fact, Daisy marrying her youngest uncle posed no threat to their family, as they considered her to be a silly and simple woman; but they were just annoyed with Simon for not continuing as a lawyer and instead coming back to take over the family business, so her father intended not to let Simon’s family have peace.
Heidi was very smart and knew that Stella was the best pawn, and she had controlled her early on.
However, Stella disappointed her greatly; she had such high hopes for her, yet this girl could not prevent the event from happening.
"Of course not; let them be smug for now but I’ll definitely make them regret it later," Stella said, stabbing the steak in front of her as if venting her frustration.
"..." Heidi laughed, looking at the stage at the happy young uncle and her soon-to-be aunt, her eyes betraying a look of enjoying the drama.
In the Carrington family, such a large clan, her mother taught her that every generation needs to be vigilant, otherwise they would end up trampled underfoot. Their branch was the head of the family, and she was the highest-ranking Carrington young lady.
She wouldn’t let Stella take this honor from her, not to mention the new girl from the Shen family, dreaming of climbing up by marrying her young uncle and becoming a lady of the Carrington family.
After calling Mom and Dad on stage, Stella, Liam Carrington, and Elena went up together, switched to calling them Dad and Mom, and then received money.
Liam and Elena did as told, but Stella called out loudly to Dad and then called out to Auntie.
The word Auntie quieted the room; wasn’t it time for a change in how they addressed each other after the marriage?
Why was she still calling her Auntie?
Stella just looked at Daisy, who removed a money packet from her pocket, handed it to Stella, and then bowed to the audience, saying, "We agreed beforehand that Stella did not want her mom to be slighted, so she would still call me Auntie. We will continue to love each other and be a family, and Auntie will treat you as her own daughter and accompany you through your upcoming stages of growth."
"..." Daisy’s words were met with applause from below the stage, initially brought on by those supporting Daisy, then the whole room’s applause became deafening.
Stella’s face darkened; she did not expect that every time she tried to embarrass Daisy, this woman seemed to be able to resolve it herself, truly infuriating her.
The wedding was quite normal; they toasted at noon, and the afternoon was a time for guests to enjoy themselves. Then Daisy chatted with friends while Simon and the Carrington family informed the guests about the dinner time.
