Chapter 1107: 005 Stella Carrington Compromise_5
"Dad, I understand. Since you like Auntie Daisy, and Auntie Daisy likes you too, then you two should be together. After all, it was Mom who didn’t want you, or me and Liam anymore." When Stella thought of Fiona Adams, she still harbored some grievances. Had it not been for Fiona’s decision to leave, today’s event of Auntie Daisy moving in with Elena would never have happened.
Therefore, Stella’s feelings towards her mother were no longer that favorable. Since nothing could be changed, she would comply – comply with the adults and then let herself grow up slowly.
Once she was grown up and capable, she would do whatever she wanted.
So, her compromise with Auntie Daisy and Elena today was only to make them pay a more painful price in the future.
"I knew Stella was the most understanding. You’re Daddy’s good girl." Simon was delighted as he scooped Stella up into his arms and sat her on his lap.
Snuggling against Simon, Stella’s smile slowly turned icy.
When it was time for dinner, Simon brought Stella home. Elena and Liam had already washed their hands and were waiting for Dad and Stella to come home for the meal.
Seeing that Simon finally brought Stella home, Daisy relaxed a great deal. Stella, upon seeing this, had no particular reaction and approached Daisy, "Auntie, I don’t oppose you being together with Dad anymore. I will bless you both, but Liam and I are different. Even if you and Dad are together, I won’t call you Mom. I’ll still call you Auntie, okay?"
"...Yes, of course, that’s no problem." Daisy looked at Simon, surprised that he managed to convince Stella successfully. She truly did not expect Stella to call her Mom. As long as Stella was willing to accept her, she felt that was enough.
"Auntie, I hope you can make Dad happy, and make Liam and me happy too. Dad will make Elena happy as well." This is what Stella told Daisy, and on the surface, she seemed genuinely sincere with her wishes for the two of them.
"Auntie will do her best." With Stella’s support, Daisy was no longer coy.
"Um, Dad, I think for such a happy occasion, we should also let Grandpa and Grandma know, so that they can be happy too, right? Also, since Auntie Daisy is so nice, shouldn’t she have a wedding as well?" Stella innocently reminded them.
She was just a child; she had no right to oppose. But Grandpa and Grandma did. If they opposed their relationship, then it would be out of her hands.
If they managed to persuade Grandpa and Grandma, then she would really compromise. It didn’t matter to her.
"Let’s not talk about this right now; let’s eat," Simon said, looking at Daisy’s satisfied expression and feeling happy inside. It was good that his daughter was sensible.
The family sat down together.
To show her gratitude for Stella’s acceptance, Elena turned to Simon and said, "Uncle Simon, I’d like to have a drink to toast to Sister Stella."
"Alright, today I’ll allow all of you to have some drinks." Simon nodded, went over to the fridge, took out a bottle of orange juice, and poured five cups for the family to drink together.
Stella really didn’t expect Elena to pull such stunts. She had no mood to celebrate with them, but she had no choice; she had to maintain appearances.
She was now hoping that her grandparents could still help stop this from happening, because even if she couldn’t stop it herself, she didn’t want to see Daisy and Elena getting their way so easily.
And growing up would take many more years; it was such a long time.
After dinner, Liam was pestering Elena to go play in the room. Elena refused Liam for the first time. She walked up to Stella, spoke amiably, "Stella, you didn’t practice piano this afternoon. Let’s practice together for a while."
"I went to a classmate meeting today, and I’m tired now. I don’t want to practice. Can’t I learn tomorrow?" Stella declined straight away, took some things, and went back to her room.
Elena stood there, feeling that nothing about Stella had really changed. Yet, the words she said earlier were so touching, but to her, it was still the same.
"Elena, why don’t you go play with Liam? Stella’s tired, and it’ll be the same if she practices tomorrow," Daisy said, trying to console the somewhat dejected Elena.
"Mom, why do I feel like Stella hasn’t changed at all?" Elena asked Daisy.
"Take it slow; it’s just the beginning. Now, go find Liam. Play for a while and then it’s time to sleep because we are going to the zoo tomorrow, aren’t we?" Daisy consoled Elena simply and then went to the kitchen to prepare some fruit for the children after dinner.
Elena could only stay silent.
