Chapter 1075: 027 Pampering Wife Epilogue (Final Chapter)_6

Avery Graham fell asleep from sheer exhaustion, and as Bernard Taylor drifted off, he thought how wonderful it would be to once again eat meat every day. This feeling was indeed very pleasant.

But Bernard’s pride lasted only a short while, just about half a year. When their Lulu was merely nine months old, Avery Graham was pregnant again.

At the moment Avery was found to be pregnant again, Bernard was somewhat bewildered. At first, he really couldn’t muster any joy. He was thinking, how long would it be before he could eat meat again?

Nancy Sallow was the happiest of all. She didn’t favor sons over daughters. When Lulu was born, she loved her more than anyone else and would squabble with her mother-in-law for a place by Lulu’s side, both refusing to let the Maternity Nurse sleep with the child.

If there were two children now, she and Avery’s mother could each have one.

Avery’s mother wasn’t as happy as Nancy Sallow, after all, it was her own daughter giving birth so frequently, which she felt was bad for her daughter’s health.

This led to the first unpleasant argument between the two families. Bernard Taylor and Avery Graham also got tangled in the issue for quite a while. Bernard wasn’t too keen on the idea, but an abortion could also harm a woman’s health.

Avery Graham had not expected that she would get pregnant again before her daughter even turned one. She too was undecided about whether to keep the baby or not.

In the end, she decided to keep it. Avery Graham wanted to have a son. Although their daughter made Bryan Hawkins so envious, Avery Graham still wanted to have a son for Bernard.

Even though Nancy Sallow didn’t hold the belief that boys were more important than girls, Avery still inexplicably wanted a son. Carolline Ruiz’s family had two sons, Megan Clifton also had a son, and Celia Wade too. So really, she wanted one as well.

Therefore, she made her decision to keep the baby in her belly because she had a feeling that this one was indeed a boy.

Once Avery Graham had decided, Bernard and Avery’s mother couldn’t really oppose her any longer. Nancy Sallow was actually quite moved. She took Avery’s hand, "Avery, Mom’s really happy. Children nowadays aren’t like how they were in our time. Every family now has two children. Mom never saw you as just a tool for giving birth, you know that, right?"

"I know, Mom. Don’t talk like that. I see the love you have for Lulu and the care you give me. Thank you, Mom," Avery Graham said, holding Nancy Sallow’s hand, the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law were incredibly touching.

"Don’t thank Mom. I’m the one who should be thanking you. It was you who brought Bernard back to life. You’re his wonderful wife, and my dear daughter-in-law. What matters most to us is that the two of you are well," Nancy Sallow expressed her profound gratitude to Avery Graham.

Perhaps neither of them had anticipated that their mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship could become so wonderful.

Speaking of Bernard, the two women instinctively looked towards where he was holding Lulu, telling her about the little baby in mommy’s belly. He explained it with such earnest focus, as if little Lulu could understand it all.

Lulu, seemingly half understanding, babbled back at her father. Anyway, Avery Graham felt that Lulu liked her father more because Bernard spent much more time with her than her own mother did.

After Marina’s confinement, she disliked her figure, then spent long periods exercising and working on losing weight. She only breastfed symbolically for three months, and Lulu would only look for her when hungry. Otherwise, her time was spent with dad, grandparents, and maternal grandparents.

Avery Graham thought if Lulu could understand ranking, she, as the mother, would definitely be last on the list.

Thinking about it didn’t really matter anymore. After all, there were so many people who adored their Lulu; one less portion of mother’s love wasn’t a big deal.

Avery Graham hadn’t observed Bernard that closely before, but now seeing him like this, she began to believe everything Nancy Sallow had said was true. Ever since they had their daughter, this ’fairy-like’ Bernard really seemed to have become a mortal, extremely approachable and filled with a sense of humanity.

Lulu played with her father for a long time until she was hungry, but her dad was still eager to play with her. Lulu, not quite able to speak yet, simply started to cry loudly.

Seeing this, Nancy Sallow quickly took Lulu out of her parents’ room, prepared some milk to feed her. In just a short while, Avery Graham could no longer hear Lulu’s crying.
