Chapter 1062: 026 Newlyweds like nesting swallows, aunt breaks the appointment_8

No matter how much they reduced it, there were still several hundred tables of people attending, just from the relatives of the Sallows and the Taylors, along with distant cousins, amounting to dozens of tables, not to mention the bride’s side of the family.

Just the relatives of the two newlyweds took up so many tables, and adding friends, company staff, and business partners they had to invite was literally described as a sea of people.

After Avery Graham and Bernard Taylor got out of the car, they took the dedicated passage to their Resting Room, while Mia Parker and the bridesmaids who got out of the cars behind them accompanied Avery’s mom and dad to greet the bride’s family members.

Nancy Sallow and Jacob Taylor had arrived early and were finally greeted by Avery’s parents. Enthusiastically, they took Avery’s mom by the hand and introduced her to their circle of friends as their in-laws.

The two families interacted with each other with extraordinary warmth and harmony.

The guests attending the wedding were very envious.

Carolline Ruiz, seeing how genuine the parents from both sides were, knew that Bernard Taylor was Avery’s ultimate match. If it was anyone else, she felt Avery wouldn’t have been as happy as she was today.

Axel had been warned before coming not to run around at the wedding venue because Daisy Willow and her family weren’t attending, and without Elena Duncan to talk to, Axel usually found it hard to sit still at these events, so Carolline had reminded him repeatedly before coming.

Axel was also getting bored and looked around, "Mom, why haven’t we seen Aunt Avery yet? I want to see if she’s beautiful today or not."

"Do we even need to say it? She’s definitely the most beautiful." Carolline knew Avery was in the Resting Room, having herself experienced the tiring routine of a wedding morning. Not to mention that later there would be the ceremony, greeting guests, and toasting with wine.

By the end of the day, the bride and groom were the most exhausted.

"Let’s go see her," Axel insisted.

"No, Aunt Avery will come out soon," Carolline refused, then handed Axel over to Emily Hill and Henry Ruiz while she went to find Celia Wade.

Celia Wade was also here, not yet through the first three months of pregnancy, which made Celia a concern that needed extra attention. There were many questions she wanted to ask Carolline, and Carolline patiently answered each one.

Because Celia hadn’t passed the first trimester, her brother was very worried. He was extremely overprotective, no less than their elder brother who was even more dramatic than her brother.

Every night, he had to read stories like "Snow White," "Cinderella," and "The Little Mermaid" to his ’little girl,’ even rewriting parts to make the plots more perfect.

Of course, ’perfect’ was defined by someone’s personal standards.

Avery Graham and Bernard Taylor were in the Resting Room, having some drinks and snacking to fill their stomachs temporarily as they would have little time to eat later.

Soon, the makeup artist came in to touch up Avery’s makeup.

Not long after, Bernard Taylor received a call from Nancy Sallow suggesting that while the bride might stay in, the groom should come out to greet the guests, so Bernard had no choice but to go ahead.

Before leaving, he took special care to admonish Avery Graham, "How are you feeling? Any discomfort?"

"No, I’m okay. You go ahead, I’ll sit for a while," Avery Graham shook her head; she wasn’t too tired yet.

"Okay, that’s good. I’ll ask Mia Parker to come in and keep you company," Bernard Taylor nodded and then left.

Shortly after Bernard left, Avery Graham lay on a lounge chair and closed her eyes. She didn’t know how long she lay there when she suddenly sensed someone approaching. She thought it was Mia Parker, but Mia Parker wouldn’t walk without making a sound.

She opened her eyes, and there was Mona Cervantes before her.

The Powells were business partners of the Taylor Family, which is why they were among the invited guests. However, what could Mona Cervantes possibly want, coming to her Resting Room at such a time?

She remembered that last time, Mona Cervantes had sincerely wished them well. Now at her wedding with Bernard Taylor, she surely didn’t intend to cause trouble, did she?

Avery Graham wasn’t sure why she was feeling so insecure; maybe it was from watching too many family dramas in the past. After all, for her, being part of a wealthy family like the Taylors was significant.

And for herself, truly, she was just a poor girl. Coupled with the uneasy emotions from last night, just thinking of Bernard Taylor, such a fairy tale catch, so eye-catching, landing in her hands was surely something many women couldn’t accept gracefully.
