Chapter 1061: 026 Newlyweds like nesting swallows, aunt breaks the appointment_7

In that moment, she truly let go of the grudge in her heart and filled with confidence in the future life.

Avery Graham wanted light makeup, but even the lightest bridal makeup took a long time. By the time her makeup was done, the sky had already brightened. Avery’s bridesmaids, except for Mia Parker, were all young ladies from the Cake Shop.

Since the rest were already married and mothers, Avery even thought that by the time Mia got married, there wouldn’t be anyone left in their circle to be her bridesmaid.

No sooner had the bridesmaids taken their places than the groom and his welcoming party arrived. The groom was truly generous, tossing money envelopes with such nonchalance as if they didn’t contain money at all.

Because of this, Bernard Taylor breezed through the challenges and arrived at the bride’s door. Probably because Bernard Taylor was the boss, the Cake Shop girls worried about their jobs and didn’t dare to trouble him too much. In short, aside from Mia, the other bridesmaids weren’t very restrictive.

Bernard Taylor was most likely the one who had the easiest time fetching the bride out of anyone in their Moments.

It was only the last step, finding the glass slipper, where the hiding spot wasn’t too bizarre.

Later, Bryan Hawkins and the others regretted not thinking of asking unmarried girls from the company to be bridesmaids for their wives. If they had done that, each of them wouldn’t have had to work so hard.

Yet because it’d been hard, every detail of the wedding was etched fresh in their memories.

Bernard Taylor found the glass slipper, knelt on one knee, and slipped it onto Avery’s foot. He then proposed on the spot, to which a blushing Avery agreed.

Amidst the cheering from everyone, Bernard Taylor scooped Avery into his arms and carried her down the stairs toward their wedding car. Then, everyone got into their own cars.

Mia Parker, as the chief bridesmaid, accompanied Avery in the wedding car.

Bernard Taylor immediately handed over a large money envelope, "Thank you, Miss Parker, for not making things difficult."

"I’ll accept the money, but remember to be good to Avery. Don’t you dare become a scumbag, or else..." Mia Parker snorted coldly through her nose.

The reason she warned Bernard Taylor was because of Michael Auclair’s incident. None of them had expected such a seemingly honest man to do something so outrageous and disgusting.

The word "scumbag" wasn’t enough to describe his vile actions.

"Don’t worry, nothing like that will ever happen," it wasn’t Bernard Taylor defending himself, but Avery reassuring Mia. She might not trust others, but she absolutely trusted Bernard Taylor.

"Hey, I’m here educating your man for you, and you turn around and side with your own guy!" Mia Parker was somewhat speechless. Well, the couple was family after all, and her sitting here was at best an outsider.

She might as well look at her bridesmaid money. Wow, it was quite a generous amount! Mia Parker was overjoyed.

Avery smiled and pulled out another money envelope from her bag, "This is mine. It’s not as substantial as Bernard’s, but it’s a token of my appreciation. You really should find time to get yourself married off. We all think Ben Parker is quite a catch for you."

"..." Mia Parker didn’t want to talk. What day was it anyway? Why bring up her out of the blue?

"Alright, I’ll take the money, thanks to the bride and groom. I wish you a harmonious marriage and hope you have children soon." Mia Parker beamed. Getting married was such a hassle. Being a bridesmaid was better: you earn money and don’t have to give any away. It was truly a good deal. After getting married, there’d be no such welfare, right?

Bernard Taylor inadvertently glanced at Avery’s stomach upon hearing the last sentence. He hadn’t heard Avery mention her relatives coming, so it probably meant they wouldn’t come at all.

If they really weren’t coming, then their precious child was likely already in Avery’s belly.

If that was true, it really would be great, just that they’d miss out on a honeymoon.

"Where are you guys planning to go for your honeymoon?" Mia Parker asked as she tucked away the money envelope. They hadn’t arrived at the wedding venue yet, and since Bernard Taylor hadn’t prepared a church, they had to drive around the City District three times before heading to the ceremony site.

The wedding ceremony and the banquet were held at the same venue.

They even had Traffic Police cars leading the way for their wedding procession, undoubtedly drawing a lot of attention.

At ten-forty, the wedding car procession finally reached the banquet venue. Nancy Sallow was already greeting guests. The hotel they chose was naturally one under the Hawkins Family. It wasn’t the most luxurious, but the one with the largest capacity.
