Chapter 1057: 026 Newlyweds like nesting swallows, aunt breaks the appointment_3

Of course, if her period arrived before tomorrow evening, he would buy back all those forbidden items for her, but until then, she had to endure.

Other items like hot pot, barbecue, and dry pot which she liked to eat, could occasionally be consumed in small amounts. It was good to stimulate the appetite when food didn’t seem appealing, definitely better than not being able to eat anything at all.

These were his beliefs; he didn’t have as many scruples and worries as Bryan Hawkins and others. After all, everything happened naturally; if children chose to come into their family, then that was the kind of parents they were.

There was no distinction between right and wrong.

Fortunately, there were snacks like Potato Chips to soothe the wounded soul.

After Bernard Taylor made juice, their phones started ringing incessantly. Bernard Taylor’s came from Nancy Sallow, and Avery Graham’s from Avery’s mom.

Both were asking where they were, and both answered in unison that they were at home.

Avery’s mom began to express her discontent, "It was fine before, but you need to drive home now. You are not allowed to spend the night together, ha. Tomorrow, let Bernard Taylor come over early to pick you up. Where do you see people who are about to get married still glued to each other?."

The words Avery’s mom spoke on the phone were essentially what Nancy Sallow meant to convey to Bernard Taylor; it was already good enough that they hadn’t forbidden them from meeting a month or a week in advance. From today until tonight, they were absolutely not allowed to meet.

After hanging up the phone, they looked at each other and smiled helplessly.

"Ah, I’m starting to miss you from now. It feels like just an afternoon, but why does the time seem so long?" Bernard Taylor pulled her into his arms and hugged her tightly. "You go ahead; I’ll clean up here."

"Then I’ll leave it to you." Avery Graham nodded her head; she wasn’t so fragile. She knew that Caroline Ruiz and Bryan Hawkins had been apart for a whole week.

If others could endure a week, they were only facing half a day; there was really nothing that they couldn’t handle.

Bryan Hawkins’s affection for Caroline Ruiz was also deeply entangled, excessively clingy, and if others could get through it, so could they.

Avery Graham quickly packed up her things and left.

Bernard Taylor restored the house to its original state and only then did he leave with the trash bag.

Avery Graham drove away first, and although Avery’s mom urged her to hurry, Avery Graham didn’t want to go home so early since there was nothing else to do. Thus, she drove alone to a place to get a drink. She thought about ordering coffee but, remembering she had grown accustomed to the coffee at her own shop, she ended up ordering a pot of Original Milk Tea to savor slowly.

This place, named "Heart’s Wish," ran quite well. They provided every client with books and also offered free Wi-Fi, making it a nice spot to quietly spend an afternoon when free.

After ordering her drink, Avery Graham went over to the bookshelf and picked out a collection of essays to read.

Avery Graham didn’t have a particular preference; she could read anything without discrimination – novels, essays, poetry, miscellaneous writings – she would read a bit of each.

She thought reading was a good hobby. If she had any obsession, it was that she preferred physical books over the now popular method of reading on smartphones or other electronic devices.

Jollie Auclair hadn’t expected her fate with Avery Graham to be so fortuitous. Today, she was out on orders from Big Brother to talk to Adelle Turner, who suggested "Heart’s Wish," so she came. They had agreed to meet at three o’clock, but now it was only two-thirty; she was early.

She saw Avery Graham’s serene figure reading as soon as she walked in. Normally, Jollie Auclair wouldn’t have paid much attention to Avery Graham’s affairs, but her Big Brother kept close tabs, so she also knew that Avery Graham was marrying Bernard Taylor tomorrow.

It was also then that she learned of the status and identity Bernard Taylor held in G City; she had mingled in many circles but couldn’t find a man who surpassed Bernard Taylor in terms of value.

Moreover, those men were more interested in merely toying with her; she wasn’t the type to let loose either. Many times, when it came down to it, she would back out, having barely tried a few times. Fortunately, the few times she did try, luck was on her side, and she hadn’t really done anything irreparable yet.
