Chapter 1002: 018 Shall we be together_4
"That’s no problem, but I can’t sell my parents’ house within three days, I only have around a million here, is that enough for a down payment?" Avery Graham was no fool, quickly calculating in her head that purchasing the house would mean an increase in value. Besides, Bernard Taylor was willing to lend money for renovations, which was a good thing. After all, she was now tied to Bernard Taylor because of their cooperation with the Cake Shop, she wasn’t going anywhere.
Having already accepted such a big investment from him, borrowing a little more to renovate the house wasn’t an issue. If it came down to it, she could just let Bernard Taylor be the owner of the Cake Shop, and she’d work for him for the rest of her life.
It would be foolish for Avery Graham not to take such an advantageous offer.
"Yes, that’s enough. As for your parents’ house, I will have my friends in Real Estate help put it on the market and strive to sell it within a short period. In the meantime, I will immediately have someone help you with the house refurbishment, aiming for you to be able to move into the new house once it’s sold." Bernard Taylor had everything planned out for Avery Graham.
"That sounds great, thank you, Bernard Taylor." Avery Graham nodded, thrilled at the thought. Suddenly, she bounced up and hurried back to her room to fetch her bankbook, "Here’s my bankbook, take it to pay the down payment. If it’s not enough, help me spot the difference, I promise I will pay you back. If I can’t manage, you can just take over the Lala Cake Shop and I’ll work for you forever. I should be able to pay it back that way."
Avery Graham had already made up her mind.
"You’re really serious about this, huh? Alright then, give me your ID card, your Resident Book, and all other documents needed; I’ll handle it for you. You better just stay in G City for these few days and focus on the next step of your plan. Moreover, Celia Wade and Ryan Parker are going to get married soon, so where will you find three months to learn how to make pancakes?" Bernard Taylor found an opportunity to keep her around.
After all, Neva Village is not in G City, and traveling there and back takes time. With so many matters at hand, it would be quite difficult to extricate herself. Bernard Taylor felt uncomfortable at the thought of not seeing her for three months.
"Right, I’d completely forgotten about that. Ryan Parker is so eager. He mentioned Labor Day earlier, but the invites have been delayed, so I fear the date might be moved up." If Bernard Taylor hadn’t reminded her, Avery Graham would have forgotten about Celia Wade and Ryan Parker’s wedding, which she certainly intended to attend.
"Then cancel your plan to go to Neva Village. You have a lot of things to do here, and besides, the business at the second shop is doing very well; it doesn’t need any innovation right now." Bernard Taylor decided for Avery Graham outright.
Innovation is indeed warranted when a shop’s business is really poor and needs a boost.
"Okay then, I’ll just put that plan aside for now. I’ll go get the documents for you. Oh, do I need to be there in person?" Avery Graham stood up and turned to ask.
"No, I’ll take your documents to them first. When they’re ready and need you to sign, you’ll go over. That should be in the next couple of days," Bernard Taylor nodded.
"Alright, Bernard Taylor, thanks for all the trouble. I owe you a big meal," Avery Graham nodded. Bernard Taylor had procured such a great deal for her and all she could do was thank him.
"Okay, I’ll be heading back now." Bernard Taylor took Avery Graham’s documents and her bankbook and left.
Avery Graham saw him to the door, then turned back. It was only once he’d left that she realized she had placed her entire trust in him by handing over her bankbook and documents.
But thinking about it, Bernard Taylor was already swimming in wealth; he probably wouldn’t be interested in her small savings.
With that thought, she realized she truly didn’t consider Bernard Taylor an outsider. Sigh.
Giselle Browman had been attentively listening from inside the room the whole time. Once she heard Bernard Taylor leave, she came out, "Did Bernard Taylor leave? Sis—"
"Isn’t that obvious? Besides, why didn’t you see off your boss? What’s with acting like a mouse in front of a cat whenever you see Bernard Taylor?" Avery Graham couldn’t understand Giselle Browman. She hadn’t behaved like this with Michael Auclair.
Giselle Browman was obviously more afraid of Bernard Taylor.
"Ah, you just don’t understand the charisma of Brother Bernard Taylor. I hear how those girls in the office gush about him every day, and it’s not just the girls—even the guys respect him immensely. Just thinking that Brother Bernard Taylor, who’s admired by everyone, could be my brother-in-law someday fills me with so much pride," she rambled on as soon as Bernard Taylor was gone.
