Scum Daddy Dreams Of Stealing My Mommy!
Chapter 97: Finding the Evidence

Chapter 97: Chapter 97: Finding the Evidence

In stark contrast to Lily Garcia’s hysteria was the calm between Christopher Hart and Amelia Garcia.

They hadn’t even deigned to look over.

However, a sudden loud shout had awakened Hope, who had been in a deep sleep on the hospital bed.

The little girl shook her head, and as her eyes had just opened, she softly called out, "Mommy..."

Amelia’s heart nearly melted. She quickly walked over joyfully and touched the little girl’s forehead.

"Mommy’s here, baby. How do you feel?"

"It hurts... it hurts so much—"

The little girl, bewildered by the complex aftermath of the surgery, could only vaguely express her pain by saying it "hurt."

When Amelia saw her reaching to pull at the medical tubing, she quickly grabbed her hand. "Baby, don’t move yet; let’s wait for the doctor to check on you..."

Meanwhile, Lily, seeing their interaction, reignited her anger, marched forward, and yanked at Amelia, nearly pulling her down.

"What are you doing!" Afraid to scare the child, Amelia instantly became furious.

But Lily was fiercer. "If you’re not Amelia Garcia, then why do you care about her so much? Constantly calling yourself her mother! You must be her!"

Christopher Hart walked over to the bed and pressed the call button then grabbed Lily, his expression dark, his tone cold, "Stop making a scene, or leave!"

"Christopher~"

Desperate, Lily stomped her foot and clung to his arm, cooing, "Really, you have to believe me. Don’t let her deceive you!"

Christopher Hart was unmoved.

She stared at his stern face for a moment, then suddenly froze, her expression turning stiff.

"I understand... you must know it, you know she is Amelia Garcia!"

The man shook off her touch, walked over to his daughter’s sickbed, and left her with the words, "If you can find evidence, don’t forget to tell me immediately."

Amelia, who stood nearby, felt her heart jolt.

He was truly a natural at lying, without a hint of guilt.

The doctors and nurses quickly arrived to examine Hope, and asked the family members to temporarily step outside.

The three of them walked outside, and Amelia turned around, "Mr. Hart, since your beloved has awakened, I’ll leave now. I wish her a swift recovery."

"Right." Just as she was about to turn around, she suddenly remembered something. Her gaze fixed on Lily, eyeing her coldly up and down.

"I think there’s something wrong with your fiancée. Her behavior was really strange when I arrived. As they say, it’s hardest to guard against a traitor within one’s home. Mr. Hart, if you truly love your daughter, then this marriage might need to be reconsidered..."

Before she could finish, Lily, pushed to her limit, snapped and lunged forward to hit her. "You bitch, what are you talking about! Slandering me! I’m only taking care of the child. What right do you have to malign me like this! You homewrecker, have you no shame! Constantly trying to drive a wedge between us, you bitch!"

She cursed and lunged forward simultaneously, grabbing and wildly slapping Amelia.

Christopher Hart, despite his quick reaction, couldn’t restrain her until Fuller and Aunt Harper arrived. Together, they managed to pull the raging Lily away.

Medical staff and some family members gathered around, whispering and pointing.

Amelia frowned deeply, her complexion gloomy as she smoothed her hair, noticing several strands had come loose in her palm.

Christopher Hart looked at her, concern on the tip of his tongue, but he pursed his lips and held it back.

"Let me go! She’s the homewrecker, destroying other people’s relationships, why aren’t you stopping her instead of me!"

Lily was hopping mad, pointing at Amelia and shouting, "I will find the evidence! Just you wait!"

Christopher Hart saw the crowd growing larger, and knowing his daughter had just awakened and needed rest, signaled Fuller with a glance.

Understanding, Fuller immediately dragged Lily away.

Her curses faded into the elevator shaft, and everyone’s eyes turned back to Christopher Hart and Amelia Garcia.

Amelia’s greatest concern was her daughter. Now that the little girl had awakened and seemed fairly alert, despite her reluctance, reason told her—it was time to leave.

Thus, she glanced at Christopher Hart, said nothing, and turned to leave.

Inside the hospital room, Hope had completed her examination, and her condition was fairly stable.

The child is still young and has weak endurance, so extra caution is needed in follow-up care. Otherwise, once an infection occurs, it can be very dangerous.

Mr. Hart listened to the attending physician’s words before returning to the hospital room.

Hope lay with her eyes open, her breathing was somewhat weak, and various tubes connected to her body flowed in and out with some fluids.

Mr. Hart sat down beside the bed, carefully holding his daughter’s tiny, soft hand, suppressing the tears welling up in his eyes.

"Honey, the doctor said the surgery was very successful. In a few days, you’ll be able to recover and jump around like other kids."

Hope did not respond, just looked around with her eyes and muttered, "Mommy, mommy..."

"Mom has some work to deal with. I’ll come to stay with you later in the evening, okay? Shall we sleep soundly?"

Hope looked at him and said with difficulty, "Daddy..."

"Yes?"

"I had a dream... I dreamt that someone wanted to catch me, kept chasing me, and I was so scared... Suddenly mommy appeared and scared the bad person away..."

Mr. Hart, listening to his daughter, wasn’t sure how to comfort her and could only gently pat her head and soothe her, "Daddy is here, no one will catch you, sleep well."

Indeed, Hope was very weak.

With her father’s words, she felt somewhat reassured and slowly closed her eyes again.

Yet, even in sleep, her tiny hand still tightly gripped her father’s thumb.

Mr. Hart, watching his daughter’s reaction, heard Amelia Garcia’s words echoing in his ears.

Could it be that Lily Garcia really had the audacity to harm Hope?

But if she were to succeed, how would she clear herself of the connection?

Was she planning to go down together?

Amelia Garcia returned to her studio, distracted while meeting with a major client.

Finally, after seeing off the client, she immediately called Snow Fitch.

"Snow, could you ask your aunt to inquire about Hope’s condition? She woke up this morning, but I didn’t hear what the doctor said."

Snow, also busy with work, asked curiously, "Why don’t you go check on her yourself?"

"I went, but ran into Lily Garcia and she made a scene again."

"Alright... That woman is simply crazy, doesn’t she feel ashamed?"

Snow checked the time and said, "My aunt must be busy now, I’ll call her at noon and get back to you."

"Alright."

Amelia Garcia hung up and turned around to see Shaw coming in.

"Sister, someone is looking for you."

Amelia Garcia’s expression tightened, "Her again?"

Shaw, realizing the misunderstanding, quickly explained, "Oh, not that Lily Garcia, it’s a handsome guy! One we’ve seen before!"

"Seen before?" Amelia Garcia was puzzled.

"When Kane’s group first arrived, we hosted them, and since the hotel had no rooms left, there was a handsome guy who gave up his private room for us—"

Before she could finish, Amelia Garcia exclaimed in surprise, "Benny Palmer?"

"Right, right, right! He said his last name was Palmer."

Amelia Garcia was puzzled as to why Benny Palmer would come to find her.

"Sis, he’s waiting outside, should we—?"

"Let’s go." Amelia Garcia thought whether it was a blessing or a misfortune, it couldn’t be avoided, and she opened the door and went out.
