Chapter 95: Chapter 95: Don’t Acknowledge Such a Venomous-Tongued Father!
Amelia Garcia didn’t know how the call ended.
She noticed that his mood was unaffected after hanging up the phone, clearly not caring about Lily Garcia’s feelings at all.
Turning his head, he returned to the topic, "So, have you decided yet?"
Amelia Garcia was stunned, still not used to it.
After a pause, she frowned and asked sarcastically, "Aren’t you loyal to your marriage, loyal to your newlywed wife? Is this your attitude toward her?"
"What, as an ex, you still plan to guide my next marriage?"
When it came to sarcasm, who could beat President Hart?
Amelia Garcia obediently shut up, looking like she couldn’t win against him and had to hide.
Christopher Hart grew impatient, "I’m asking you a question, have you gone mute?"
"Didn’t I just say it? See you in court! Have you forgotten, old man?"
"Are you sure?"
Amelia Garcia stared at her phone and decided not to respond anymore.
Christopher Hart looked at her, his handsome face cold as frost.
After a while, he tossed out, "Refuse the toast only to drink the penalty," and turned away with long strides.
Hope’s surgery was very successful.
But since it was a major surgery, she needed to be observed in the ICU for twenty-four hours.
Once all her vital signs returned to normal, she could be moved back to her previous room.
Amelia Garcia’s heart finally settled back in place.
After following the medical staff to the ICU with Hope still unconscious, her phone chimed.
Unlocking the screen, she saw a message from Snow Fitch asking about the surgery.
Seeing that Christopher Hart was still communicating with the doctors, she quietly slipped away to find Snow Fitch and Kane.
"Have you guys been waiting here all afternoon?"
She asked in surprise when she found them in a children’s play area of the hospital.
Snow Fitch replied, "What else could we do? They were worried about their sister and even wanted to go up to see her. They wouldn’t leave."
"Mommy, how is sister doing?"
"Did sister cry? Does it hurt a lot?"
Amelia Garcia reassured the two brothers, "Don’t worry, the surgery went very well. Sister is still sleeping, so she probably doesn’t feel much pain right now."
But once the anesthesia wears off and she’s fully awake, it will definitely hurt a bit.
"Sister is really awesome!" both brothers praised.
Noah then asked, "Mom, when can we go see sister?"
Amelia Garcia was surprised, "You still want to go see sister?"
"Yeah! That person won’t recognize me anyway!"
Snow Fitch commented, "You’re really brave. I was so scared, my heart nearly stopped."
Ethan interjected, "You’ve already been there, next time it’s my turn!"
"You’re so clumsy, what will you do if that person runs into you?" his brother scorned.
"Don’t underestimate me, I know what to do! I met him before you did!"
"That was last time, now—"
"Alright, alright! Stop it!" Amelia Garcia’s head hurt from their bickering.
"Sister is still in the ICU, let’s talk later. It’s already past two or three o’clock; you guys should go home. Aunt Fitch and Kane have things to do, they can’t stay with you forever."
Dressed up, Kane flipped his long hair, nonchalant and flirtatious, "No worries, I’ve been cooped up at home for days, it’s nice to get out for a bit."
Snow Fitch, having held back for a long time, every look at him was painful, hurriedly added, "We should go! I’m afraid someone will call the police about a pervert later."
Amelia Garcia couldn’t help but laugh.
"Are you addicted to dressing as a woman?"
"Oh—you’re really heartless, am I not doing this for you?"
Amelia Garcia: "..."
Snow Fitch looked at both of them, laughing mischievously.
After much persuasion, Amelia Garcia finally managed to send them all away.
She turned around and headed back to the hospital ward to check on Hope again.
If everything was stable and fine, she planned to return to her studio for work.
She’d come back early the next morning.
By then, when the little girl woke up and saw her, she would definitely be overjoyed.
Unexpectedly, she had just walked a few steps when a figure walking towards her made her tense up.
Christopher Hart? Why had he come down? Was he leaving the hospital?
Didn’t Hope need someone to stay with her?
When their eyes met, Amelia Garcia immediately put on a stepmother’s face, planning to ignore him and walk past.
But Christopher Hart looked at a certain spot and suddenly frowned, asking, "Is that Snow Fitch?"
A jolt of shock ran through her!
He saw her?
What kind of vision was that, several hundred meters away!
"Yes, what about it?" Amelia feigned composure.
"What is she doing back at the hospital?"
"Her nephew is sick, she brought him to see the doctor. She knew Hope was having surgery today and came to ask about her condition."
Christopher Hart’s expression was unreadable, neither cold nor warm, "Uninformed people might think he was her son."
It’s always the aunt who brings him to play and to see the doctor.
Little do people know what his parents are up to!
Amelia felt guilty but kept up a good facade, also catching the irony in the man’s words.
"Isn’t it natural for an aunt to love and care for her nephew? Do you think everyone is as cold-blooded and ruthless as you?"
The man’s thin lips curled up, "You’re talking about yourself, right? Others show such love and care for their nephew, yet you treat your own daughter like a stepmother."
K.O.
"..." Amelia was once again at a loss for words.
Her phone rang, it was a call from Christopher Hart.
He glanced at it, answered, and hurried towards the parking lot.
It must be some urgent business at the company.
Amelia watched his retreating figure relax, feeling much more at ease as she turned to go upstairs.
After Christopher Hart finished the call and was about to get into his car, his gaze inadvertently caught a scene, and his eyes narrowed slightly.
Snow Fitch was returning with a little boy, both of them having just bought ice cream.
He got into his car, started it, and lowered his window as he slowly drove past them.
"Eating ice cream while sick? No wonder he’s not getting better."
Snow Fitch was startled, froze with her ice cream in hand.
When she realized what was happening, she quickly hid the two popsicles she was still holding behind her back.
—Those were for Kane and Noah.
"What’s it to you?" Snow Fitch rolled her eyes at him dismissively.
The man smirked coldly, noticed the popsicles hidden behind her, and sneered, "Just don’t bring him here to victimize Hope. Eating more doesn’t affect me at all!"
The luxury car sped away.
Snow Fitch, infuriated, grimaced at the tail of the car, then turned to poisonously influence his biological son, "Ethan! With such a venomous-tongued father, you better not acknowledge him!"
Ethan, absorbed in his ice cream, replied nonchalantly, "My mom can support us just fine. Why would we need a scumbag father?"
Snow Fitch gave a thumbs up, impressed!
Was this genetic?
Venomous tongues, arrogance, cold-heartedness, utterly heartless—perfectly inherited!
Amelia Garcia, outside the hospital room, received a WhatsApp message from her best friend that startled her into standing up abruptly.
"Are you sure he didn’t recognize you?"
"Nope—if he had, would I still be able to call you?"
"That’s good, too risky otherwise! You better take them back now."
"Alright, got it. But you know, Christopher Hart is such a sharp person, isn’t it unbelievable how blind he’s been? After seeing us several times, doesn’t he have any suspicions?" Snow Fitch found it incredible.
Amelia thought for a moment, "He probably never dreamed that I would give birth to triplets..."
