Chapter 300 Hope Gets Injured
Chapter 300: Chapter 300 Hope Gets Injured
Emma Carter brushed her aside without giving her a chance to continue speaking, and with a smile said, "Well... of course, your sister is also welcome."
"But you treat my sister badly; she definitely doesn’t want to go."
"How could that be! You are all Grandma’s grandchildren, and she loves you all the same."
Noah, with a stern face, directly exposed her lie, "You’re the most insincere person I’ve ever met."
"..." Emma Carter couldn’t keep up appearances.
"You all should leave. My brother, sister, and I won’t go to your place, and please don’t trouble Aunt Harper and Uncle Fuller anymore. They take very good care of us three siblings."
Despite his young age, he was unafraid in the face of danger, calm and composed.
Although Emma Carter was displeased, seeing such a spirited grandson, her fondness grew even stronger.
After a moment of silence and a slight change of heart, she added, "If you really don’t want to go, then... how about Grandma and Grandpa stay here instead? That way, we can take care of you."
Aunt Harper turned to look at her, unsure of what to do...
"George, let’s just stay," Emma Carter said to her husband, seeking his opinion.
George Hart thought for a moment, then nodded, "These two kids, as stubborn as that scoundrel! It looks like we’ll have to stay."
"This is not your home! You all leave!" Hope suddenly came running out too, standing by her brothers and yelled at them.
Emma Carter turned to look at the little girl, her gaze suddenly much stricter, "Hope, that’s no way to talk to your elders."
"You are not my elder!"
Emma Carter, fuming, snapped, "You brat... you have no manners at all!"
Done speaking, as if to further provoke the children, she walked back to the living room and sat down, "This is my son’s home, which means it is also my home. I’m going to stay, and I’d like to see who can kick me out."
Hope was headstrong, sometimes even disrespectful, and immediately stormed downstairs.
Noah’s expression changed, "Sister!"
Uncle Fuller stopped her at the bottom of the stairs, "Miss Hope, go back upstairs. Uncle Fuller is here."
"Don’t worry, Uncle Fuller. She doesn’t like me and won’t take me away. Just take good care of my brothers," Hope said with a chirpy voice, slipping past Uncle Fuller skillfully and heading towards the living room.
Emma Carter sat there, staring coldly at her, "You’re just like your mother."
"Don’t you dare talk about my mom! She’s the best mom in the world!"
"Ha, what would a little kid like you know!"
"Yes, I’m just a kid and don’t need to understand much. I just need to know who is good to me and who isn’t!"
"..." Emma Carter was left speechless, holding back her frustration, "Forget it, I can’t be bothered to argue with a child."
"Aunt Harper!" Emma Carter turned to look at the stairway, instructing, "Tell the kitchen to make dinner again. We haven’t had our evening meal, and all the relatives outside, let them in!"
This—
Aunt Harper stood frozen, unsure of what to do.
Hope glared fiercely at her, suddenly rushing over and grabbing her arm, "Leave! This is my home! You’re not welcome! And the chef won’t cook for you! Leave!"
The little girl exerted all her strength, trying to pull Emma Carter up and push her out.
George Hart, seeing the girl was really being rude, came over and pulled her away, "Hope, we’ve tolerated your disrespectful words towards us, thinking you’re just being unruly. But it’s too much for you to lay hands on your grandmother!"
"Hmph! Isn’t it going too far when you all bully my mother?" Ethan defended his mother, voice loud with accusation. "You just said I don’t understand anything, but I do! It’s because of all of you that my dad and mom got divorced! It’s why my brothers and I were separated from a young age and couldn’t reunite!"
"If it weren’t for you, mom would have always been by my side, growing up with me! If it weren’t for you, dad wouldn’t be like this now, not even remembering me! It’s all your fault! You’re all so mean, even worse than the witches and beasts in fairy tales!"
"You little brat!" Emma Carter could no longer restrain herself, suddenly standing up and, without hesitation, slapped him across the face.
"Ah—" Hope stumbled backward from the slap, crying out in pain.
The next second, Fuller, Aunt Harper, Noah, and Ethan, who ran down the stairs following behind, all rushed over.
"Madam, Hope is just a child!" Aunt Harper’s eyes filled with tears out of sympathy.
"Exactly because she is a child that she needs proper discipline! Look at what she has become! With a mother like that, how can she be a good child!" Emma Carter didn’t feel she was wrong at all, so furious she was getting dizzy, with her condition threatening to flare up.
"Don’t you dare talk about my mom!" Hope pushed Aunt Harper aside and lunged at Emma Carter, biting her hand fiercely.
"Ah— It hurts so much! Let go! You damned girl..." Emma Carter was in so much pain that she hopped on one foot, desperately trying to pull her arm away, but didn’t expect that Hope, who seemed so frail, could bite so viciously.
Aunt Harper and others were terrified and hurried over, some trying to calm the situation, others trying to pull them apart.
But a child’s teeth are sharp and fine, deeply embedded in the flesh, and Aunt Harper didn’t dare to pull too hard. After several seconds of struggling, she still couldn’t pry them apart.
Emma Carter’s face changed color from the pain, and as she pulled and hit and pinched, Hope finally let go, having bitten until her teeth ached. She was thrown aside, falling against the corner of a table, and her back collided with the leg of a coffee table.
The child’s sobs tore through the living room.
Chaos ensued in the scene.
Emma Carter looked at her wrist where there was a visible bite, two rows of teeth marks clearly visible, blood seeping from the punctures.
Driven to her limits by hatred, she fought the urge to rush forward and continue scolding Hope.
"Don’t you bully my little sister again!" The two brothers glared at her hatefully, standing protectively in front of their sister.
"Madam, please calm down!" Fuller and the bodyguards guarded the children once again.
Aunt Harper comforted the sobbing Hope and turned back to advise, "Madam, if this gets out to President Hart, he will be furious. You’d better leave for now."
Emma Carter held her bitten arm, feeling an unprecedented mix of fury and humiliation.
George Hart had a face full of anger but felt helpless, "Let’s leave, that injury needs treatment at the hospital."
With the wound unbearably painful, and her illness already troubling her, Emma Carter realized she couldn’t stay to "take care of her grandchildren." She clenched her teeth and, suppressing the resentment in her heart, she left angrily.
"Sis... are you okay? Where does it hurt, let me blow on it..."
"Brother, should we tell dad... wah-wah-wah, Sis has bruises all over her..."
Noah wrinkled his brow, "Aunt Harper, let’s not tell mom and dad about this for now, it will worry mom. Fuller, the next time they come, don’t even let them through the door."
"Yeah, young master, rest assured, Fuller knows what to do."
Amelia Garcia had a brief nap when she suddenly woke from a nightmare.
Christopher Hart was sitting by the bed. Seeing her jolt awake, he immediately grabbed her hand, "You’re awake?"
The woman opened her eyes, noticing it was already dark outside, and he was still dressed as when he arrived, sitting in his wheelchair, she realized, "You... you haven’t slept?"
The fatigue was evident on the man’s face, yet his eyes carried a gentle warmth, "I did lay down, but seeing you restlessly sleeping, I just..."
He had gotten up to watch by her bedside.
