Chapter 232: Sorry, Didn’t Catch Up
Chapter 232: Chapter 232: Sorry, Didn’t Catch Up
Christopher felt a rush of fury, regret, and despair, his eyes instantly turning blood-red in the dim, gloomy light, as a chill swept through him as if he had fallen into an ice cellar.
Fuller briefly explained what had happened. After listening, Christopher grew even more upset!
He had been careless!
He thought that by arranging for people, he could keep the three children safe, but to his shock, the opponent had disguised themselves as a deliveryman...
He recalled the deliverymen who had frequently visited the neighborhood these days; there must have been someone scoping out the area.
Perhaps the opponent had already figured out their daily routines and had planned a perfect escape route.
Yet he had noticed nothing!
"Call the police immediately! I’m coming back right now. Send everyone out for a citywide search! Focus on the Fortune Community!
That was the last place Lily Garcia had called from; if they had kidnapped the children, it was likely they had taken them there.
After giving these urgent instructions, Christopher hung up the call, and they had already reached the car.
Amelia Garcia grabbed him, her face pale and anxious as she yelled, "What happened? Who has been kidnapped?"
Christopher looked at her, his eyes chaotic and dark, his expression both somber and anxious, "It’s... Ethan. Fuller said they were walking the dog in the neighborhood, a rider passed by, said the dog was cute and played with it, suddenly Little Dunham’s leash snapped, the dog ran off, and the kids chased after it... The rider then picked up Hope and Ethan and ran off. Fortunately, Noah reacted quickly, managed to rescue Hope, but Fuller, fearing the rider had accomplices, dared not leave Noah and Hope behind, and couldn’t catch up in time, though others arrived and continued the chase..."
Before he could finish, Amelia’s face turned deathly pale, and she slumped down weakly.
"Amelia!" Christopher quickly caught her and opened the car door to place her in the passenger seat.
"Amelia! Amelia... wake up!" he gently patted the woman’s face, terrified.
After a while, Amelia slowly recovered, her eyes opened, breathing rapidly.
Once her consciousness cleared, she suddenly went mad, slapping the man wildly with both hands, "Christopher! It’s all your fault! You brought this disaster upon us! If anything happens to Ethan, I swear I’ll make you pay with your life!"
The woman, in utter disarray and hysteria, kept hitting him incessantly.
Christopher’s face went numb from her slaps, offering no resistance.
If beating and cursing him could bring his son back safely, he would now willingly hand a knife to the woman.
Yet, he still grabbed her hands.
They couldn’t afford any more delays; they had to rush back immediately.
"Amelia.... don’t worry, I will definitely rescue our son. Even if it costs me my life, I won’t let anything happen to him!" he firmly held the woman’s shaking arms, his gaze steady and serious as he made a solemn promise.
No one would have thought that this promise would soon come true!
The car sped on the road home, Christopher was driving and constantly making phone calls, all while occasionally comforting the emotionally distraught woman in the passenger seat.
"Amelia, Ethan will be fine, many people are chasing after him, that person won’t get away!" he confidently comforted the woman, also reassuring himself.
Just a deliveryman, after all, how could he escape so many watchful eyes? The pursuit of so many people? And the police manhunt?
No way, the little fellow would definitely be rescued soon!

Back to Fuller.
After receiving Christopher’s call, he immediately heightened his vigilance.
As the children refused to go inside, he promptly contacted others to come and enhance the protection.
While he was coordinating with his colleagues, a delivery rider passed by, complimenting the dog as being cute and knelt to pet the dog on its head.
A suspicion arose in his heart—delivery riders are always in a rush, so why would one have the time to play with a dog?
"Hey, you—" just as he approached to inquire, Little Dunham suddenly barked and swiftly bolted away.
"Ah! Little Dunham has run away!"
"Quick! Block Little Dunham!"
Ethan and Hope were startled and hurriedly chased after the dog.
Fuller’s face changed drastically as he thought to himself, This is bad!
Sure enough, just a few steps after the children dashed out, the rider also suddenly started running, seizing the opportunity to grab Ethan and Hope who were following the dog!
Noah was the most sensible one—having listened to his mother talk about bad people many times, he reacted very quickly and grabbed his sister by the leg.
The little girl fell hard on the ground and immediately burst into tears!
The rider, without even looking back, carried Ethan and ran even faster!
"Help! Someone help!" Fuller picked up Hope, who was knocked to the ground, and while protecting Noah with his other hand, he loudly called for help.
Luckily, his colleagues arrived just in time to witness the scene and chased after the rider at great speed.
"Quick! Take the children home!" Fuller handed Hope and Noah to his subordinates, and as he turned to sprint, he immediately took out his phone to report the situation to President Hart.
The rider, carrying Ethan, thought that abducting just one child would be easier. However, the child was extremely strong and screamed and kicked in his arms, completely uncontrollable.
But he was well-prepared beforehand and pulled out a cloth soaked in sedatives from his pocket, pressing it harshly against the child’s face.
In just a moment, the screaming and kicking child passed out.
The rider breathed a sigh of relief and ran swiftly with the unresisting child, heading straight for where he had parked.
"Move aside! Quickly, move! The child is gravely ill!"
In front of the Fortune Community gate, as several people were about to enter and exit, they heard the shouting and instinctively stepped aside.
The rider passed through the gate unobstructed, left the community, jumped on his scooter, and sped away.
The security guards were stunned, still not understanding what had happened, when they saw more people chasing from behind.
"What...what’s going on? Could this be a child abduction?" a frightened passerby murmured.
Three or four bodyguards rushed out, joining forces with colleagues who were coming from another direction outside the community.
Several people chased the scooter that hadn’t gone far; others got into a car parked on the roadside, splitting into two groups.
However, the rider had already planned his escape route well and didn’t head for the main road, but instead turned into a narrow alley.
Cars couldn’t enter the alley, so the group on foot had to continue the pursuit.
Unexpectedly, just as several bodyguards entered the alley, suddenly four or five delivery riders on scooters rushed out, colliding with them, causing people and vehicles to tumble over in a chaotic mess.
When the bodyguards got up and looked around, the criminal was nowhere to be seen.
The patrol police were the first to arrive.
The police officers who had already received orders from their superiors immediately controlled several suspicious-looking delivery riders upon meeting with the bodyguards.
Fuller arrived, learned that they had not caught up with the criminal, and in frustration, punched the wall. He took a breath, then quickly pulled out his phone to make a call.
"President Hart, I’m sorry... we didn’t catch him—"
Christopher Hart gripped the steering wheel, his handsome face was as cold as ice, and the car sped through the tunnel like an arrow.
Upon hearing this, he didn’t even have the energy to roar with anger; his heart was flooded with panic and unease.
Lily Garcia...
He really had underestimated the situation!
