Chapter 189: Chapter 189: The Grandson Takes Action Against Grandparents
Amelia Garcia was driving to Imperial Garden Villa when her phone rang.
Seeing that it was a call from her best friend, she worried that there might be an issue with the kids and immediately answered, "Hello, Snow, what’s happened?"
"You need to come back! Christopher Hart’s parents have shown up!"
"Why did you call her! That woman has the heart of a snake and scorpion! Giving birth to three children and then abandoning her daughter, hiding her two sons away! Her actions are unforgivable!"
Along with Snow Fitch’s voice came the angry denunciation of the former mother-in-law, Emma Carter.
In that instant, Amelia’s whole heart felt like it was about to explode!
She had just been telling her best friend that they couldn’t let Emma and her family find the children. How could they have shown up at her friend’s house in the blink of an eye?
How did they find them so fast?
The call was cut off, but it did not end normally, as if the phone had been knocked out of hand.
Imagining her best friend "struggling" with them, and picturing the children being taken away by force, she became utterly panicked.
Without caring for traffic rules, she crossed a solid yellow line to make a U-turn, stomped on the gas, and hurried back.
At the same time, she frantically dialed Christopher Hart’s number.
"Hello..." the man’s tone was calm, "You—"
"Christopher Hart! You bastard! Was it you who told your parents that Noah and Ethan are at Snow Fitch’s house?"
Christopher had picked up the phone thinking the woman had changed her mind about coming back for dinner and was taken aback as she started cursing at him with a trembling voice!
The man’s face darkened instantly and he immediately denied, "I didn’t say anything!"
His mother had called that morning, but he had firmly refused.
At this moment, he certainly didn’t want his parents to know and further complicate matters by getting involved.
"Then how did they find out!"
Christopher heard the extent of her rage in her voice and immediately understood, "Did they come looking for you? Or did they go directly to Snow’s place?"
"They’re at Snow’s house right now! They’re trying to take Noah and Ethan! Christopher Hart, I’m telling you, if the kids are taken by your family, it’s not over between us!"
After hanging up, Amelia drove even faster, fearing that if she arrived even a moment too late, the children would be forcibly taken away.
Meanwhile, on the other end of the phone, Christopher Hart, without a moment to explain anything to his daughter, abruptly stood up and hurried out the door.
————
"Snow Fitch, what does this have to do with you? Our Hart Family, at most, would just nod to your Fitch Family in passing. If you offend the Hart Family because of this, think about the consequences!"
Emma Carter had tried several times to barge in but was blocked each time by Snow.
Snow, already a straightforward and brash person, was now fully fired up and ready for a fight; Emma truly didn’t have a way to handle her.
George Hart, a grown man, couldn’t very well start manhandling a young woman who wasn’t even married off, so he could only try to reason with her from the side.
"Snow Fitch, the children belong to our Hart Family, you must be clear about that. We, as their grandparents, have every right to take our grandsons home!"
Snow scoffed with a cold laugh, "Hope is also your granddaughter, why don’t I see you so keen on her?"
Her words left them speechless.
"Let’s face it, it’s just because they’re boys, right? If they were girls as well, would you even be here?"
While Snow delayed them, she quietly signaled Sister Jones to call the property management.
Originally, she intended to call the police directly.
But worried that making a big scene might reflect poorly and ultimately bring trouble for her friend and the children, she decided against it.
So, as long as the property management arrived and sent them packing, that’d do the job.
Emma Carter, red-faced and extremely embarrassed, fell silent for a few seconds before picking up her aggressiveness again, "Which grandson we favor is none of your business! In any case, they are Hart Family children and can’t be left out there! What’s the use of calling Amelia Garcia back? It’s perfect if she does come back—then I’ll settle this account with her properly!"
Amid the conversation, there was a disturbance at the door—it was the property management arriving.
"Miss Fitch, is there something you need help with?"
"These two trespassed into my house. What kind of management are you running here?" Snow looked at the property management staff with a serious tone.
The property management staff was taken aback, "This... they gave the apartment number and the homeowner’s surname, we thought they were your visitors, so naturally, we let them in, right?"
"Shouldn’t you be asking me?"
Miss Fitch interrupted, "Snow! Hand over the child and we’ll leave immediately!"
"What are you all standing around for? Kick them out!" Snow ignored Emma Carter, looking at the property manager to give the order.
The property manager was completely confused, seeing that Emma Carter and her companion obviously had power and influence, so he didn’t dare to offend them and could only step forward to politely say, "Madam, sir, please leave, don’t make it difficult for us."
Emma didn’t even glance at the property manager, speaking arrogantly, "This woman has hidden my two grandsons in her house. I’m here for the children. It has nothing to do with you!"
The property manager was full of question marks, looking towards Snow.
"Your grandsons are at your son’s house. My children have nothing to do with you!"
"Call them out and we’ll see if it has anything to do with us or not," Emma looked at her husband standing idly by, furious, "What are you standing there for? Go in and bring out the children and let’s leave!"
Emma regretted it.
She had thought that Snow, a girl, would be easy to intimidate and they hadn’t brought anyone along, not even the driver who was waiting in the car.
But she realized that Snow was fearless, no amount of threats or temptations worked!
Had she known, she would have brought more people!
George Hart also wanted to take the children. Seeing Snow wouldn’t budge, his patience was exhausted, and he felt compelled to step in, "Miss, this matter doesn’t concern you. We apologize for the offense, but we hope you’ll understand."
With that, he tried to force his way inside.
Snow tried to stop him but was pushed aside. Sister Jones, seeing this, was frightened and quickly protected Snow.
Snow was a person of loyalty.
Since her best friend had left the children with her, she felt it was her duty and responsibility to ensure they were safe.
Even though she was forced back, she still stood firmly in front of the study door.
"The door is bolted shut, you won’t be able to get in!"
"Snow! Don’t think we won’t lay a hand on you! Do you know that what you are doing is illegal? We could charge you with kidnapping!" Emma was livid.
"Go ahead and sue! Do you think I’m a three-year-old? Who’s afraid of you!"
In her rage, Emma stepped forward and began to pull at Snow’s clothes and hair.
Snow, caught off guard and reluctant to retaliate too harshly against an elder, could only try her best to defend herself.
Sister Jones tried to help, but was pulled away by George.
George grappled with the door lock, trying to break in.
Sister Jones shouted at the property manager, "Why are you just standing there?"
Seeing the fight break out, the property manager didn’t know who was right or wrong, but thought it best to intervene and try to break it up.
Inside the study, Noah and Ethan pressed tightly against the door.
Every noise outside was crystal clear to them.
They knew that Aunt Snow, who was protecting them, was being bullied by the so-called "grandparents" and both clenched their teeth in silent rage.
"No! I must help Aunt Snow!" Noah turned around, searching the study for any kind of defensive "weapon," but unfortunately, he found nothing suitable.
Ethan was even more impulsive, ferociously twisting the door open to rush out, "Ahh—Aunt Snow, I’m coming to help you!"
Just then, George was exerting force to break the door down, and when Ethan pulled, George stumbled awkwardly inside.
The little guy was quick to react and dodged in time to avoid being knocked down.
Snow turned her head, horrified, "Who told you to open the door? Shut it and stay put!"
But the children weren’t listening.
Ethan saw the "bad grandpa" fall and hesitated not a moment before climbing on top of him to start hitting.
Meanwhile, Noah rushed out and latched onto Emma’s hand, biting down hard.
"Ah—" Emma cried out in pain, releasing Snow’s hair.
Just as the scene became utterly chaotic, Amelia Garcia arrived in a whirlwind of activity.
"Noah! Ethan! Snow!"
