Chapter 396: Chapter 375: The Man on the Cliff Edge! (6.2K, large chapter!)_4 Chapter 396: Chapter 375: The Man on the Cliff Edge! (6.2K, large chapter!)_4 Although trying to avoid battle would definitely be the best option…
the Shield Emblem, Time Stop Gold Card, and Repulsion Gold Card had all reached their usage limits, and further use would come at a significant cost, so there was no choice but to bear it and charge…
The only option now available was this Golden Mark, which hadn’t been used much until now.
However, before he could use it, Colin suddenly discovered that the Golden Sun Seal in his hand ignited on its own, emitting a pale light mist.
From within the mist, a figure in white emerged.
“The Light Chaser?” Colin was a bit surprised, and then subconsciously waited for the payment notification to pop up on his retina.
Across from him, the three figures rushing to attack, upon seeing this personage of light, and sensing a certain essence in them, one of the well-informed, authentic old demons from the Zhenghuang Flag couldn’t help but exclaim in shock…
“Light?! Damn it! Wasn’t this guy supposed to have died in some unknown universe beyond the light cone? How has he returned? Have those despicable fellows at Bonfire Company dragged him back into the known physical universe again?!”
“This presence, it’s not him… otherwise, today’s affair would have been resolved long ago!”
“Never mind, let’s do this!”
After several cries of astonishment, they attacked at the same time.
However, “The Light Chaser” showed not a trace of panic, raising both hands to form a barrier of white light, thick as glass, to face the three powerhouses.
“Boom!”
A massive explosion rang out, but before the shockwaves of the blast had subsided, the three beings determined to self-sacrifice did so, one after another.
Seeing this, “The Light Chaser” in front of Colin had an odd expression on her face…
She hadn’t even made a move yet, so why had the enemy killed themselves?
But a second later, a flash of inspiration came, and she suddenly realized why the reward for this mission was so unusually high at “300” points, but the parchment indicated that the mission time was most likely less than ten seconds…
Because just by arriving here, she feared she would vanish.
However, not dwelling further on this realization, and before that barrage of attacks could reach them, she reached out towards Colin, flicked her finger, and shot a condensed ray of light into his body.
In an instant, Colin felt most of the negative effects from the various accumulated artifacts within him erased…
“Thank you…”
Colin said his thanks, feeling that this rescue was worth at least ten thousand points!
Wait, had he not yet paid?
Had he forgotten, or had someone else paid already?
However, as soon as he spoke, Colin heard “The Light Chaser” emit what seemed like a faintly pained grunt, and following that, her projection burst like a bubble in an instant…
Seeing this, Colin didn’t think too much of it and turned to look towards some figures on the road leading up to the middle of the mountain.
“So you like to fight to the death, huh?”
Colin took out a Bone Spur, a cruel smile creeping across his lips…
With the negative effects cleared, and without those “divine” beings that were like walking bombs, everyone here was going to die!
Soon, amidst sharp cries of anguish and the fluttering debris of bodies, Colin’s blood-soaked figure staggered up the slope to a clearing midway up the mountain, and then his heart “thudded” at the sight that greeted him.
Various heretic human cultists, different non-human races, demons, and even powerful followers of the “Red Moon”…
All of these beings bore a certain amount of “divinity” on them!
But soon, Colin breathed a sigh of relief.
He noticed that these beings seemed to be caught in some unknown predicament, all standing rigid in place, heads bowed towards a certain direction.
Out of caution, Colin refrained from attacking them rashly.
Then, narrowing his eyes, Colin looked past this crowd and towards the deeper area, on the mountainside cliff, where he saw a derailed and damaged train and next to it, a large, pink plastic stool of the kind common in food stalls…
Though the plastic stool was somewhat faded, it stood out starkly amongst all the monstrous entities.
And then, on the faded pink food stall stool…
Colin saw a man in a brown-red Hunter’s Coat, motionless as a corpse, back turned to everyone.
And behind him, all the different races stood eerily still, faces bowed towards him…
Their state seemed to be that of beings caught in some form of deep slumber…
The scene was extremely eerie.
But, guided by the mission’s instinct, Colin could confirm…
The target on the pink stool was that one individual employee of Bonfire Company at C Level in the entire incident!
