Chapter 268: Chapter 266: From the Underground_1 Chapter 268: Chapter 266: From the Underground_1 “Ah??”

Colin’s mind raised a huge question, What’s going on here?

He could feel that the presence emanating from the speaker was incredibly powerful, much stronger than the “Father of the Sea” after his “Divine” had been stripped away.

The most critical aspect was the obvious “superiority” about it—that kind of “Divine.”

But…

With such strength, this level of being pleading for mercy, he had never heard of it before.

This made Colin feel a sense of unreality and absurdity…

Every big shot that appeared had an imposing presence, so why was this one’s tone so soft, pleading and apologizing?

“However, who is this Rosen? What is this thing that’s trapped? And why is he calling out to me… Did he mistake me for someone else?”

Colin puzzled inwardly when a sudden illumination made him vaguely realize who the person mentioned by the other party was.

The “former company” employee who died here!

“So, this one is called Rosen…”

Colin seemed to understand and then, with a cold face, ignored the voice by his ear, lifted his foot, and continued walking out—

Perhaps in the eyes of that former colleague, these creatures were nothing but chickens and dogs.

But now, with the roles reversed, if he were to be recognized, there would be big problems!

However, just then, sensing that Colin was not paying attention, the terrifying existence deep below the giant maze seemed to grow impatient…

Under Colin’s feet, the soil squirmed, turning into a pair of hands, reverently stretched out to grasp the hem of his pants.

“I really have repented, I truly have, please release me from your Containment God Kingdom…”

You, son of a…

Colin looked at the hand clutching the hem of his pants, thinking about whether to use “Time Stop: Pause” to escape or to perform a “Tiger’s Body Shake” to make the other let go.

But then, a human face emerged: “Saint Rosen I have acknowledged my wrongs, I beg you… you’re not Rosen!”

The face stared at Colin and screamed!

“No, you are Rosen, you have his power, his weapon, no, no, no, is he… dead?!”

The terrifying existence from beneath the ground seemed to have been tormented for too long, leading to a confused mind, but after a moment, it suddenly realized something and let out wild laughter, causing the entire labyrinth tunnel to vibrate:

“Hahaha, that damned guy, he’s finally dead!

“You, whoever you are, since you’ve inherited his power, release me immediately, or else I’ll kill you!”

The horrifying existence from below changed its tone in an instant.

‘Well, it’s all pleases and thank yous with him, and with me, it’s all fists and threats, huh!’ thought Colin as he understood what was meant by a “Light Speed” change of face.

Immediately, a flame burst forth from his body, enveloping him, and Colin spoke with a tone of doubt, “How do you know he’s dead? Maybe I just came to test you, didn’t I?”

The monster underground definitely had no idea about his purpose for being there, and it likely also didn’t know about the previous “Human Patchwork Monster.”

It had pursued him because it sensed a familiar aura on him.

Therefore, with this unequal information, Colin had some room to maneuver.

However, as he was talking, he was also prepared to use Time Stop and ready to flee.

At this point, the hand withdrew, as if worried about Colin’s suggestion—that guy might not truly be dead—what if this was just a probe?

Otherwise, it would be simply too unreasonable for this person carrying Rosen’s aura to come here alone.

“You… I… I can feel he’s gone, but…” His voice turned weak again, and even though he knew it was a ruse, he didn’t dare try more; in fact, he couldn’t attempt too much.

The seals that bind it to this day still limit it, preventing it from truly using much power.

“Regardless of his situation, I can be sure that you indeed have a significant chance of setting me free…”

“We can make a deal.”

“I can guarantee I won’t lay a hand on you, and I can agree to a request for aid…”

The voice kept reaching his ears, but Colin didn’t stop moving, continuing toward the exit.

“I can sense that although you possess that kind of power, you’re not a ‘Firebearer.’ If you can release me, I can tell you where his traits might remain and where he went last…”

“I can tell you many secrets, about this world…”

“Also, from you, I can see that you’re entangled with many things, many of which are connected to you, many of which are troublesome divine beings…”

“Just solve my predicament, and I can likewise help you resolve one of your troubles…”

The underground voice continuously tried to negotiate, but unfortunately, Colin let it in one ear and out the other, leaving unswervingly.

During this process, Colin encountered no further obstacles.

“Someday, you will agree.”

After Colin had completely left the Underground Giant Great Labyrinth, the last voice reached his ears, and behind him, a human face stretched out from the wall, staring at him intently until it disappeared.

Not long after returning to the surface, Colin finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Reflecting on what that thing said, he pursed his lips:

“Agree my ass. It’s all apologies and servitude with that Rosen, even offering a three-thousand-year contract. When it comes to me, they put on an act. Damn, do they think I’m easy to bully…”

Although Colin was indeed curious about what that creature had said, he also knew that his current strength was nowhere near capable of tracing the past.

The stark difference between that underground being’s past and present personas was proof enough.

This was already the case without releasing it; if he truly set it free and it confirmed the death of its former colleague, given the personality traits it had shown, Colin reckoned there was a not-so-small chance he’d be on the receiving end of its retribution.

Couldn’t overcome the big one, and now can’t handle this smaller one?

“I’ll report this to Miss Bunny later. If she deems it important, I guess the Corps will come talk.”

Colin shook his head, not surprised that his former colleague had such strength.

After all, the two “Firebearers” who had appeared were both dead yet extremely powerful; neither was weak.

Without pondering further, Colin, torch in hand, glanced at the surrounding darkness, confirmed his direction, and started to silently retrace his steps back.

This time, apart from that little surprise underground, nothing else happened.

After several more hours, Colin once again saw the little chapel. Around it, many refugees seemingly heard that they could get food and survive there had come flocking.

Along the way, Colin saw many groups moving toward the chapel as if on a pilgrimage.

However, at that moment, Colin suddenly heard a din of noisy cursing coming from a nearby group.

It looked like something had happened over there.

After thinking for a moment, Colin first gazed from a distance at the town within the Silent Mountains, confirming that nothing had occurred there during his absence, then he walked toward the source of the noise and cursing.
