Chapter 303: Chapter 303: I’m Not Worthy, and You Are?
Shen Weiyi went to school the next day and from the way everyone looked at her, she guessed news of her moving out of the dormitory had spread online. She knew Shen Jingqi was too ostentatious and would definitely attract attention.
Entering the classroom, she happened to run into the girl who had deliberately knocked her books over before. The girl gave her a cold look and said, "You’re not worthy of Senior Sheng."
"I’m not worthy, and you are?" Shen Weiyi asked indifferently, without anger.
The girl’s face stiffened, then she lifted her chin slightly and said, "I never said that."
Shen Weiyi: "Then what are you trying to say?"
The girl huffed, "A lot of people saw yesterday, a guy came to pick you up in a luxury car."
"So?" Just because of that, you think I’m not worthy of Sheng Ting?
The girl glared at her, taking a moral high ground, and scolded, "You already have Senior Sheng, and yet you’re still entangled with other men. How can you do this to him? I really don’t know what he sees in you."
Shen Weiyi: "Maybe he likes that I’m pretty."
"Senior Sheng is not that shallow," the girl said hatefully.
Listening to her tone, she seemed to know Sheng Ting quite well.
A hint of realization crossed Shen Weiyi’s face: "You like Sheng Ting, don’t you?" It seemed there was a reason for her previous hostility. As for how the girl knew Sheng Ting and what kind of thoughts she harbored, Shen Weiyi didn’t care to ask.
The girl’s face changed slightly and she quickly denied, "No, I simply can’t stand people like you. Relying on your beauty, you manipulate men."
"It doesn’t matter if you don’t admit it." Successful people always have admirers. In the past, she couldn’t be bothered with these relationships, but not anymore. She had to learn to protect her own feelings.
Shen Weiyi: "I just want to tell you that the guy who came to pick me up yesterday is my friend, and his girlfriend was there too. We’re both students of Z University, so please think before you speak, and don’t just echo others." She had given her explanation, and whether the girl believed it or not was irrelevant.
Shen Weiyi diverted her gaze and walked to her seat.
The girl bit her lip, glaring fiercely at Shen Weiyi’s retreating figure when she heard a whisper from a nearby girl: "What she said seems to be true. Someone on the forum dug up information about the guy who drove the car yesterday. He’s a freshman, and he really does have a girlfriend."
The girl’s expression froze, her face noticeably turning uglier, then she sneered, "So what? She has a boyfriend and still doesn’t know how to avoid suspicion. They deserve to be criticized."
The girl next to her saw her bad mood; although she didn’t quite agree, she didn’t say anything.
"Are you okay?"
Shen Weiyi had just sat down when the girl in front of her turned around and asked with concern, "Don’t listen to their nonsense. They’re just jealous of you. Don’t take it to heart."
"Do you believe me?"
"Of course." The girl smiled, "With a boyfriend as good as Senior Sheng, why would you be interested in someone else?"
"You’re right," Shen Weiyi couldn’t help but smile.
You see, there are still intelligent people in the world who won’t be swayed by public opinion. In the end, only those with ulterior motives picture others in such an unsavory light. It’s the old saying: If you have a Buddha in your heart, you see everyone as Buddha; if you harbor filth in your heart, you see everyone as filthy.
Shen Weiyi naturally wouldn’t get angry because of these people.
