I have other matters to attend to, so I can’t keep you company any longer."

"Ding-dong!" The doorbell of Ling Xuejiu’s villa rang, Leng Xuan and the two young ladies were all sitting on the living room sofa watching TV. Hearing the doorbell, Li Mengjie couldn’t contain her curiosity and asked, "Who is it?"

Leng Xuan gave a wry smile, having a vague idea of who it might be. He touched his nose out of habit and said, "I’ll go open the door." Without further explanation, he stood up and walked towards the entrance. Checking through the peephole, he saw a woman standing outside wearing glasses, dressed in a white suit, probably in her mid-twenties, exuding the aura of a sophisticated woman. Guessing it must be the psychologist Bei Yin recommended by Mrs. Hui, he then opened the door.

"Who are you?" Although Leng Xuan had his suspicions, his cautious habits from his days as an assassin prevailed, so he still asked first, just to be safe.

"I am Bei Yin!" The woman outside sized up Leng Xuan, then revealed a professionally polite smile, and asked, "Excuse me, is this Ling Xuejiu’s home?"

"Yes," Leng Xuan nodded, smiled politely at her, and said, "Please come in." As he spoke, he stepped aside, letting Bei Yin enter before closing the door. However, before he could turn around, he heard Ling Xuejiu exclaim, "Sister Bei..."

Startled, Leng Xuan turned around to see Ling Xuejiu jogging up to Bei Yin, taking her hand and saying, "Sister Bei, it really is you, isn’t it?"

"Yes, Xiao Xue. It’s been years. I didn’t expect you to grow so much, and wow, you’ve become quite a beauty!" Bei Yin smiled.

"Sister Bei is very pretty too!" Ling Xuejiu said happily. After all, what girl wouldn’t be happy to be complimented on her looks?

Twisting her lips, Li Mengjie seemed a bit displeased as she said, "Sister Bei, do you still remember me?"

"Hmm?" Only then did Bei Yin seem to notice Li Mengjie sitting on the sofa. She answered with a smile, "You’re Xiao Jie, right? Hehe, you’ve all grown up. I almost didn’t recognize you!"

Li Mengjie appeared to have some preconceived notions against Bei Yin, barely smiling, she said, "So, Sister Bei still remembers me, hehe. By the way, Sister Bei, didn’t you go overseas to study?"

Bei Yin replied, "Yes, I’ve finished my studies and just returned not long ago."

"Oh! So you’re a ’female returnee’ from overseas!" Li Mengjie chuckled.

What Li Mengjie meant by ’female returnee’ instead of ’female returnee from overseas’ clearly carried a hint of sarcasm.

However, Bei Yin didn’t seem to catch the undertone in Li Mengjie’s words. She just smiled lightly and then turned to look at Leng Xuan, saying, "You must be Xiao Xue’s bodyguard, Leng Xuan, right?"

Leng Xuan hadn’t expected Bei Yin to be acquainted with Ling Xuejiu and Li Mengjie. He felt a bit surprised, and from the way Li Mengjie looked at Bei Yin, he could tell that the younger girl didn’t seem to like her very much. While pondering this, Bei Yin was already asking if he was Leng Xuan. He smiled and replied, "Yes."
