Chapter 88: Chapter - 88 Cinders & Ash
Dahnnie’s Point Of View
"There are too many of them! What are we going to do? They just keep coming like roaches!" Tyhlr yelled
"You kill every last one of these assholes!’ Solomon replied.
I couldn’t agree more this shit was getting out of hand, and I just couldn’t believe that this was even happening. I heard an explosion and then a loud crash from behind me. When I turned around, I witnessed one of the helicopters protruding out of the mansion.
"Fuck! These bastards don’t deserve any mercy!" I yelled.
Then, there was a loud deep drumming noise approaching us. Solomon shot the last two men approaching us and turned towards the noise as well.
Once it came into view, my eyes widened in shock and anger. We were doomed and this mansion would fall. We didn’t have too many exit strategies, but it was time to enact one of them.
"Everyone, fall back to the house! Use the four wheelers! Save as many lives as you can!" Solomon yelled.
"Raihne! This is Dahnnie, get the fuck out of there right now! A safe room is useless if the entire house is on fire! They brought a fucking tank! Please get out of there right now!"
I hopped on a four wheeler with Tysse and sped off to the house. I could hear the tank lining up its first shot behind us. My heart was pounding in my throat.
"Dahnnie! Veer left, now!" Tysse yelled.
I did as instructed and watched as the first missile sped past us and struck the second floor. The explosion was deafening.
"NAHANA!" I heard Meahlene yell.
I looked up and noticed Nahana hanging from the window seal. I sped up and Tysse jumped off before I could reach her.
"Jump! I’ll catch you!" Tysse yelled running up to her.
Nahana swung herself a bit before letting go. Then, plummeted down right into Tysse’s arms. Then we all looked up at the house, it was currently on fire.
"Here comes another one!" Tyhlr yelled.
Everyone moved out of the way and the second missile struck the first floor. I wasted no more time in my decision, I knew what I should do next.
"Get as many people to the guard’s house, deactivate the fence it’s a hindrance now. Make sure to check the women’s lodging house as well." I called out.
"What are you going to do?" Meahlene asked.
"I’m going to try to protect Raihne and the girls. I know I’m not allowed to, but the boss... and the mini boss... they really love those kids, and Raihne is still in a cast." I replied.
"Then I’m coming with you. Those babies are precious to me as well. Nahana, go clear out the women’s lodging house with Tysse. Tyhlr, Solomon please evacuate the kitchen staff and others. Work quickly and avoid the front of the house, their shots are unpredictable." Meahlene said.
No one argued with her decisions. She climbed onto my four wheeler and I drove directly through the front doors. I came to an immediate hault upon seeing Santiago and the doctors.
"Don’t go this way, there is a tank out front. Grab as many medical supplies as you can and head out using the back kitchen door. Head to the new guard’s house." I said.
They all nodded and rushed back towards the clinic. Another explosion shook the house and I began to drive my four wheeler up the stairs in earnest. As I turned the left corner to get to the 2nd floor stairs, I saw Hoaruhs and Jaihme carrying some maids out of a room.
"They were cleaning up the rooms. Mrs. Kristi sent us to retrieve them. Benjahmin and Zaire are doing a 4th floor sweep right now. What’s happening? What’s with the explosions?" Hoaruhs said.
"These bastards brought a tank. Get everyone to the guard’s house as fast as possible!" I said.
"Th-They did... Wha–"
He couldn’t finish his question, because a third missile crashed into the left staircase and exploded. This missile hadn’t been the same as the others it seemed to eat away at the ground and began to smoke terribly.
"Hurry Hoaruhs! I need to go help Raihne!" I said, as the sprinkler systems came on.
They nodded and began to run down the last remaining staircase going to the first floor. Meahlene gripped my shoulders and we began to ascend the second floor stairs.
We were just I time to see Raihne, Jasper, and Rohan helping everyone out of the arcade room. Rohan was carrying a blue haired baby, Jasper carried a brown haired baby, and two smaller girls clung to an older orange haired girl. I quickly realized there were more people in this room than I had initially assumed.
Counting Raihne, Rohan, and Jasper there were about 13 people in this room. It was nearly impossible to protect this many people with just 3 people. I looked over at Raihne and he looked as if his warring emotions would consume him completely. Rohlander was carrying a wounded and unconscious Ahriel as well. The situation was the worst case scenario.
"Raihne, take the four wheeler, I’ll protect the rear with Rohan... is that alright?" I asked, climbing off the bike.
"Yeah. Thanks Dahnnie..." He replied.
"Odehssa, Reah carry the little ones. I want able bodies to have weapons. Joobehlee, sweetie... I want you to ride with Raihne and Sable." Meahlene said.
The switching began and Rohan and Jasper took out their guns, once the women had the children, and once we were ready, we began to walk as a group towards the stairs.
Unfortunately, the explosions began to pick up in speed and the intervals between each shot lessened.
’Fuck! I’m going to kill every last one of them!’

Ezekihel’s Point Of View
There were gun shots and explosions sounding out everywhere. The entire room was tense and no one was making a sound. I wasn’t sure what was happening outside the room, but I was glad they had brought me in here.
–Raihne! This is Dahnnie, get the fuck out of there right now! A safe room is useless if the entire house is on fire! They brought a fucking tank! Please get out of there right now!
Everyone began to panic, Raihne was getting increasingly upset. His eyes were extremely bright, he looked directly at me and his eyes flashed with something akin to fear and remorse.
"We need to leave. Stay close to each other, and don’t let go of anyone’s hands." Raihne said.
"Ezekihel...? Can you carry me? Payhne isn’t here to do it... I’ll be a burden if Raihne has to worry about carrying me and protecting Sable..." Arrisa whispered to me.
She had taken a liking to me because she liked my hair. I had always been made fun of or degraded for my hair. She was the first person to actually go wide eyed and ask me if she could play in it. She was adorable, and I could understand why they wanted to protect the girls. Sable’s drawings were beautiful and they clearly deserved to just be children.
Rohan and Jasper picked up the babies, and Delcain and Kaleb began packing the diaper bags. Odehssa and Reah started to put shoes and coats on the babies, while Sable helped Arrisa and Joobehlee get their coats and shoes on.
I grabbed my bag, and then picked up Arrisa and carried her on my back. My heart was pounding so hard, that I could barely breathe. Then, multiple explosions began to shake the house. The girls gasped and the children began to softly cry.
Once we were ready Jasper and Rohan ushered us out through the bathroom. I was confused as to why, until Jasper pushed on a Part of the wall between the sink and toilet. There was a soft hiss and then the wall opened to show a dark room filled with machines.
They lead us out of the room and into the hallway, and as soon as we reached the hallway the water system was activated by another explosion.
"Ugh! Everything will become too heavy to carry if it takes on too much water!" Sable said.
"Cover the babies with a blanket, the water will become too much for them." Reah said.
Jasper and Rohan did as instructed, and covered the children. Then there was another commotion behind us.
"Raihne! Ahriel was hurt pretty bad. What do we do? The house is on fire on the left side!" One of the men said, he was carrying another man on his back.
"Let’s go, we are going to go the other way." Raihne replied.
Then, there was another commotion in front of us. My heart couldn’t take all the stress anymore.
"Dahnnie...? What’s happening out there!?" Jasper said to the newcomers.
"The house won’t last much longer. The men are evacuating the others. We are going to all meet up at the new guard’s house." One of the men said.
"Sable, climb on. I’ll drive." Raihne said.
"Come on Joobehlee, let’s get going..." Sable said, holding out her hand to the littlest girl.
They both climbed onto the bike and we all began to head down the stairs. We finally reached the first floor and I was shocked to see how much of it was completely destroyed, and consumed by fire.
"We need to head towards the backdoor in the kitchen!" Dahnnie yelled.
Before we could take another step, the front doors came crashing in, and a large vehicle came plowing in with a long barrel pointing in our direction.
